Arapaima Primary children visit Georgetown.

March 8, 2016 Source

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo had the opportunity yesterday to meet with students from Arapaima Primary School in Region 9, GINA said.

During his brief engagement with the students at his office, he said it gave him great pleasure to have afforded the students the opportunity to come on a five-day visit to Georgetown.

Karen Charles, Senior Mistress (ag), engaged the Prime Minister at the recent Ministry of the Presidency’s Public Day held in Lethem where she explained the plight the teachers faced in affording the students the opportunity to visit the capital city.

GINA said that Nagamootoo on the spot pledged his office’s support and indicated that a $200,000 donation would be made towards the visit to offset travel and other expenses.

The students, though their visit was brief, entertained the Prime Minister.

So the children wake up one morning and decide, "Abbey gat to go and see Naga today?"  Or were they coerced and shepherded into that ungodly direction?

Did you miss this???

They dusting him off again to divert attention away from the prison riots and his absence from the establishment of the drought committee. Seems like trottman and Harmon running things while he is enjoying the trappings of power as a Prime Minister with nothing else to do. Not a good role model to be visiting school children. A noted liar.

Don't tell Django this. He thinks Naga got his own money like the prison system in Guyana. Naga has a printing machine. He will print $1000 bills and give them. Donation my ass. He is a lawyer, he will probably rob the children of their $20 bills.

Looking at this piece of news from the standpoint of those Rupununi kids, I think it is a terrific thing to let them tour Georgetown, whether or not they met the Prime Minister. When I was the same age as those kids I was so happy to visit Georgetown from Uitvlugt that I could not sleep the night before travelling. And, during the one year I was a teacher at Leonora, I accompanied my class on a tour to the then Timehri airport. Those kids were so happy, even the shy ones offered me their curry and roti on the bus. So, I can imagine how those Rupununi schoolchildren are feeling in Georgetown.

The teachers could not afford it,the Senior Mistress engaged the PM about the plight and he responded.
