Guyana's state of the art sugar factory at Skeldon, Berbice was commissioned a couple years ago. The initial operation of the factory did not go as well as it should. Efficiency was far from what was expected and the gov't was forced to hire an engineering firm from South Africa to fix the glitches in the system. Here on GNI, Quack Warrior and Meth Amphet Pundit kept a chorus going about "White Elephant' in the ancient county. The gov't announced today that repairs have been completed and the factory is functioning as it should. This should help boost production of sugar at a lower cost.
