President Donald Ramotar meets Chief Executive Officer of Qualfon Corporation Mike Marrow.

The Qualfon Guyana call centre is ranked superior to the other customer services operations in other countries, according to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qulafon Corporation Mike Marrow.

With a staff complement of 1700 at its Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara location and plans in the near future to open branches at Sparendaam and Providence on the East Bank of Demerara, the business is projected to grow in stature.

Within one month approximately 1000 employees will begin occupying the Sparendaam location, the CEO told the Government Information Agency (GINA) after accompanying a team of executives to a meeting with President Donald Ramotar today.

Guyana’s edge over operations in its other territories around the world was credited to its cost structure, and hardworking and competent staff members that are fluent in the command of the English language.

“We do customer service for them (other companies), talking to their customers… in terms of where they want to have the business and how fast they want to increase… it all depends on the requirements of our clients,” Marrow told GINA.

He was accompanied by Board Chairman Alfonso Gonzalez Arocha, Chief Operating Officer Alejandra Romero and Call Centre Manager Luanna Persaud in the meeting with President Ramotar and Minister of Finance Dr. Ashni Singh.

The delegation had previously met for a management meeting and took orphans on a tour of the Qualfon operations during which they were treated to meals, games and gifts, compliments of the company.

Qualfon Guyana officially began operations in November 2005 with 50 customer service agents in a rented section of a complex at Beterverwagting which it now fully occupies as the business has expanded. It has grown in reputation as the second biggest Qualfon Centre with respectable working relations with the Guyana Government.

Winner of the Best Partner Award by clients, Qualfon has an international presence in almost every country in Latin America, the United States of America (USA), Europe and Asia with a quick response to any service requirement via telephone, fax, web, email and Short Message Service (SMS).

The Government has been welcoming to investments like Qualfon that create job opportunities for Guyanese and promote development in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

The Government and the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) have facilitated the process by bringing in fibre optic cables via land and water to expedite access to the Internet and cheapen the cost of bandwidth.
The One Laptop Per Family (OLPF) programme which will target 90,000 families for a free laptop seeks to equip the population with the tools necessary for the ICT revolution the country is pursuing.

The norms of the oppositions are to strike down any prospect of progress that favor's Guyana. I can understand criticism, but a cynical attitude is detrimental to a striving nation.

Bhai, Dem Katahar Robber Barrons dont carerat's ASS about Guyana and it's People. It is all about them and their deprive lust for Wealth, Power and Status!!!

Nehru

At the end, it's what you have to show and the PPP has done remarkable well under Jagdeo's administration. President Ramotar proved that his leadership will continue that path to enhancement, infrastructure progressions, economic growth and bridging the equality gap, among the many things on his agenda. Politics that plays out with destruction to interrupt the nation's business will be self destructed by their own doing. The Guyanese people are braved and smart to know who is leading them to prosperity and who is leading them into the devil's den. We must be resolute is our believe for Guyana and our fellow Guyanese.
