Racist Vulgarity Against Indians in Guyana: Live video
Indo-Guyanese have been attacked by a bunch of Black racists. according to a very vulgar short video that has been making its way on what’s app. The video shows a group of Africans shouting and illustrating racist obscenities at Indians who were engaged in a peaceful protest against the President’s unilateral appointment of Gecom Chair. Their language is venomous and condemned. They uttered only filth against people of Indian descent.
The Africans were laughing and mocking at Indians hurling vulgar insults and cursing at them. They uttered venomous, racist derogatory comments against Indians. They opened their crotch and exposed their privacy to Indians. They are insufferable bigots.
This incident does not bode well for future race relations in the country. The government’s response to it will indicate how it intends to manage race relations and whether it is interested in racial healing and in Indian support at the next elections. The vulgarity and lascivious behavior must be condemned by the media, church, the coalition government, and very decent minded person. And the police should find the perpetrators and bring them to justice — the video is available for all including the law authorities. The Security Minister should instruct the police to find the racist abusers who proclaimed themselves as APNU supporters. The incident happened in front of what appeared to be a Christian church. So these Africans have no respect for God or he church.
The short video clipping came to me four days ago from a what’s app contact. The clip showed Africans shouting at the top of their voice hurling the dreaded derogatory term “coolie” in referring to the Indian protesters and praising APNU. They used the most obscene curses one can think of against Indians. One of the male Africans pulled down his pants and his underwear and lifted his private part and shaking it telling the Indians “You coolies tekthis”. Another African male grabbed his crutch pointed it to the protesters. One does not expect African women would also engage in such lewd demonstration. Unfortunately, an African female who was seen just passing by the group of abusers joined them in heaping further insults on and swearing at Indians and also using the C term to attack Indians.
What kind of society are we building when people are behaving in such vulgar manner attacking others on account of their race? The government must take a stand against racist abuses by arresting the culprits. The church must also come out against this kind of behavior. All of them must be brought to justice.
Yours faithfully,
