(Trinidad Express) Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced that the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the murder of senior counsel Dana Seetahal, has been increased to TT$2.5 million.

Persad-Bissessar made the disclosure after emerging from a meeting of the National Security Council held at the Teaching Hospital at Chancery Lane, San Fernando this afternoon. (not business as usual...like in Guyana)

On the day of Seetahal’s killing, Crime Stoppers had issued a TT$1 million reward.

(Will call in foreign help to help police solve this Crime)

.... Persad-Bissessar also said that should the police need foreign help in cracking the case, it would be provided.

(Immediate Action)....

Persad-Bissessar convened a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at around 5p.m. Peoples Partnership members Prakash Ramadhar, Vasant Bharath, Gary Griffith, Gerard Hadeed, Kevin Ramnarine, Suruj Rambachan, Ganga Singh, Roodal Moonilal, Emmanuel George, Chairman of the UDeCOTT Jerlean John, DCP Mervyn Richardson, Acting CoP Stephen Willaims, and Chief of Defence Staff Major General, Kenrick Maharaj, attended.

Minister of National Security Gary Griffith said he intended to recommend to the NSC an increase in the National Alert State from green to amber.

He said the increase in alert means heightening of operational preparedness and visibility of all law enforcement agencies.

The NSC comprises the Chief of Defence Staff, Commissioner of Police, Director of Strategic Services Agencies and various heads of the protective services.

Trinidad Law Enforcement will hunt them down...and find them....

Ramotar can learn from Kamla how to deal with Crime...

He is too dunce a President to learn anything, he has a ring to attached to his nose, and everytime he tries to do the right thing, some crook that is around him, give that noose a little tug.

Trinidad is a crime capital of the world. Trinidad tough talk about hunting down is only to give the public some reassurance in this latest killing. This case grab national attention in Trinidad that why Kamla put much emphasis behind it. Crimes are committing in Trinidad as we speak that you wouldn't hear about. President Donald Ramotar don't need advise from Kamla, he is capable to give Kamla some sound advise on crime fighting.

I do not know who can learn from who. What I do know is the authorities in tRINIDAD, Government, opposition and the Police are all acting very professional. In Guyana you would have heard overtones from the PPP that the opposition had something to do with the crime.

When last you read up on the crime statistics in Trinidad? Trinidadians think Guyana is paradise when it comes to crime.

I have to agree with Chief. Guyana Police Force is a Fry Rice and banks Force. They cant even solve an Assault case muchless Murder.
