[www.inewsguyana.com] β The Guyana Elections Commission moments ago released the preliminary results of the 2015 General and Regional Elections which shows that the APNU+AFC is leading the Peopleβs Progressive Party/Civic by some 6797 votes in the General election.
The coalition also led the incumbent Party by some 4059 votes in the regional elections.
iNews Guyana will provide more details as it becomes available, see the table above for more information relative to the preliminary results.
For visitors, it must be pointed out that the figures shown here is for Region 4,5,6, taken from 112 polling district.
Still a lot more results to be made official.
The PPP keeps on creeping. They are now 45% up from 25.
The Alliance are down to 54% fro 75.
Only 313 boxes counted so far. The PPP strong holds are still to be counted.
Guess we will have to wait for what feeds we can get from the Newspapers, GECOM seems to be like a dead duck with a pack of idiots trying to give out figures which no one can comprehend.

As tension mounts in the wait on GECOM to declare the elections results, the two major political parties have gone ahead and disclosed the figures they have to date and based on each declaration, both the PPP/C and APNU+AFC are claiming the lead.
Peopleβs Progressive Party Civic Presidential Candidate Donald Ramotar said βat this point our figures show that we are in the lead. The count we have is as follows: PPP/C 182,664 and APNU-AFC 151,095 from 2213 Statements of Pollβ.
But while declaring its own figures on the heels of APNU+AFC, Ramotar condemned the Opposition for doing so. He said the fact that APNU-AFC did this despite GECOMβs continuous warnings against such acts is βreckless and a wanton demonstration of disregard for the related consequences which can lead to instability.β
He said too that this is βclearly a continuous trend by the Opposition to compromise the integrity of the May 11 electionsβ. According to Ramotar the PPP/C has won Regions One, Two, Three, Five, Six and Nine. He conceded that the APNU+AFC has won Regions, Four, Seven and Ten and said that they are still unsure about Region Eight.
But despite making these pronouncements, Ramotar stated that βirresponsible declaration creates a dangerous situation given that GECOM is yet to announce the official resultsβ.
Meanwhile, the Opposition Coalition told a news conference that it has secured 182,176 votes, while the Peopleβs Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) has 157,947 a variance of 24,229 votes.
The coalition made the announcement of its commanding lead based on the tabulation of votes on 2,025 Statement of Polls (SOPs) which represents 85% of votes cast.
Presidential Candidate, David Granger explained that they have been tabulating the statement of polls coming into its operations center and have gained some amount of grounds at the PPP/Cβs strong hold areas.
βThe results show with 88% of the votes that, in what were formerly PPP/C strong-holds in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara Region, Region No.3; Mahaica-Berbice Region, Region No. 5; and the East Berbice-Corentyne Region, Region No.6, the Coalition has made significant inroads.β
Additionally, in the, βDemeraraβMahaica Region, Region No. 4 and the Upper Demerara-Berbice Region, Region No. 10, the APNU+AFC Coalition has improved its performance from 2011.β
Brigadier Granger also made another call on their supporters, βto remain calm as the official announcement of the results of the elections is awaited. APNU+AFC say all should keep the calm and work in cooperation as GECOM will still be the one to make the official announcement.β
Granger said GECOMβs delay in announcing the winner is abnormal in this technological age and called for the results to be made known soon, noting that it is impossible to prevent the dissemination of these results.
He noted that it was pivotal that they make their supporters aware of what is taking place.
βPeople here need to know so that they can move on with their lives.β
Meanwhile, Prime Ministerial Candidate of the coalition, Moses Nagamootoo noted that their commanding lead is as a result of their ground fighters who have been working on in all the regions diligently.
In the same breath, Nagamootoo maintained that they are still awaiting the official declaration from the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) and they intend to continue to cooperate with the commission in this regard.
It should be noted that only GECOM is legally authorised to announce a winner at the polls along with the election results and not the political parties.
some people are lying.

PPP/C CLAIM: RE:
PPP/C 182,664 and APNU-AFC 151,095 from 2213 Statements of Pollβ.
APNU/AFC CLAIMS:
APNU/AFC RE: 182,176, AND THE PPP/C has 157,947 from 2025 Statement of Poll.
GECOM HAS PROVEN TO BE A DEAD DUCK:
maybe they looking at different SOPs
maybe they looking at different SOPs
Ray the reason for a difference in the presented figures could be that the PPP/C checked 2213 SOP's whils't APNU/AFC checked 2025 SOP's.
The high figures in the PPP/C checking, could be that they checked more SOP's than APNU/AFC

There are 2299 SoPs, so something else is the problem.
There is a clear discrepancy some where.

ok moderator hang on i coming back
This morning May 13th 2015: 0800 Hours: Still no reports from GECOM:
Looking at the last semblance of report that we had based on SOP's the was submitted to the Parties officials, in which the Presidential Candidates were both claiming Victories, which David Granger and Donald Ramotar words on the line.
I would personally believe Mr Granger more than I would do Ramotar as in my personal dealings with Ramotar......I have found him to be a liar. So if I had to choose.........I would accept Granger words rather than Ramotar.
At this stage (since GECOM is keeping back the Reports) if I had a choice I would trust Granger and give the APNU/AFC the W:
Words from the two Presidential Candidate all boils down to credibility, as I foung Granger to be more credible than Ramotar
I would say the APNU/AFC has won the 2015 Elections:
.
Status Report shows that the PPP/C with 157,947 and
Status Report shows that APNU/AFC with 182,176
I would never ever take Ramotar words as credible I have had my probles with Ramotar and his credibility, in my book Granger can more be trusted.
