Berbice businessman, 68,shot during home invasion

BERBICE businessman, Mitra Doodnauth, 68, was shot and injured last Friday night during an armed robbery at his home when two robbers took away $6,000 and his hearing aid.Police in a press release stated that about 20:30 hours last Friday Doodnauth, of Corriverton, Berbice, was making checks around his premises when he was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
During the incident, Doodnauth was shot and injured to his right knee and right hand by the robbers who then escaped.
Doodnauth has been admitted to the Skeldon Hospital for medical treatment.
Investigations are in progress, police added.
