Dear Editor,
Recent comments made by the Minister of Education Priya Manikchand underscore a grave lack of understanding or concern by the Minister for the office she holds. To pointedly make a comment to suggest or infer that another person is, or has knowledge of another who was involved in the criminal and immoral act of committing rape, is irresponsible, wicked and out of place. Mind you, the minister’s irresponsible comments took place in the National Assembly, the legislature.
That's the govt's squarest peg. She wrapped tape around pencils at Freedom House and then Jagdeo made her a Minister. That's in the newspaper.
How about Burkett, a social worker, being the Foreign Affairs Minister?
Another square peg.
Education Minister Priya Manickchand yesterday experienced another bout of loud booing yesterday when she stood in the National Assembly to defend her choice to “reprimand” the United States Ambassador to Guyana, Brent Hardt at his local residence a week ago; on which occasion she was also vociferously booed.
She wants to be the PPP's heavyweight, and presidential candidate. However, Kwame got elected to the Central Committee and Plumpy did not.
But, as long as she can wrap tape around pencil heads, she is a winner.

Ramsaran was yesterday addressing Members of Parliament, when A Partnership for National Unity (APNU)
Invoices supplied to a New York court by the Dr. Ranjisinghi ‘Bobby’ Ramroop’s New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (New GPC) have clearly contradicted the Guyana government’s defence of drug purchases from his company.
Members of Parliament and other pharmaceutical suppliers had raised concerns about the seeming exorbitant prices that the government was paying to the New GPC for drugs.
Reports on the comments by the critics led to the pharmaceutical company taking legal action in the courts of New York, and in Guyana, against Kaieteur News.
Yesterday Head of State, Donald Ramotar, echoed the sentiments of Minister of Health, Bheri Ramsaran

Ramsammy- spy equipment
Ashni - drunk driving and leaving the scene of a crime
Jagdeo - denied he was married; put out his wife and leave her penniless
