OK Folks!

This is bad, bad, bad news for the AFC/PNC and the losers and whiners on GNI who daily lambaste Guyana and the PPP---naysayers and pessimists  like stormborn, mitwah, TK, TK's alter-ego redux, warrior, jalil, pointblank, devindra, Ronald narain, Mahin, god, Mr. T, cain, etc, etc, etc

CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT BANK(CDB) PRAISES OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY GUYANA'S ECONOMY

* Vice President (Operations) of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Dr Carla Barnett Monday praised Guyana’s economic performance, which has and continues to withstand the effects of the global financial crisis.

* β€œIn many of the countries we have seen growth decline, but Guyana is an exception, and in the last few years, we have seen the economy in Guyana actually expand,” Dr Barnett said.

* Since 2006, because of prudent fiscal management, the economy has been showing its resilience, recording growth every year.

BOTTOM LINE:

Who will the Guyanese people believe---the reputable Caribbean Develpment Bank(CDB), which hails the remarkable progress and economic development in Guyana under the PPP or the AFC/PNC losers and whiners on GNI who daily pollute this board with filth and garbage about how the PPP is destroying Guyana ?

While traditional sectors such as sugar, bauxite, and rice continue to contribute significantly to economic development, new and emerging sectors are flourishing as well. These include to a large extent, tourism and mining.

In agriculture, rice with a target of 412,000 tonnes has again outdone itself; recording a production of over 422,058 tonnes, by far, the largest output in the history of rice production in Guyana with overall average yield being 4.6 tonnes per hectare.

......................................................................................................

Seems like mining, tourism and the Rice Industry are the drivers.  Way to go.

What the Caribbean Development bank(CDB) reveals is the TRUTH regarding Guyana's economy--unlike other economies in the region, Guyana's economy is growing nicely and most sectors are humming along.

Of course the losers and whiners on this forum who support the AFC/PNC cannot accept that truth---because if they do it will destroy their illusions about the PPP being bad for Guyana.

By the way, don't be surprised to see 3rd rate/3 cents AFC economist Dr. Tarron Khemraj(TK) come here and question the IQ and intelligence of that CDB official Dr. Carla Barnett---that's his modus operandi.lol

You are an ass and do not know the trouble for a small farmer planting rice. Most of the locals hardly have more than 3 acres and that means they get 60 bags of paddy on average and that is around $1700 per crop with a minimum of 2 crops a year for backbreaking toil. And that is with good projections. It takes at least 5 months to get paid despite the legislation demanding payment in two months.  It never happens. The result is the people give up and another crop of fools try and they still lose their shirts. The industry is slave labor for small farmers. Only the big ones make it.

Nothing new here. The begging bowl economy has always been the backbone of the society. Unlike the Chinese loan, these are given over to the government to the deliverables are completely on the back of the government. I doubt it will reach 100K people after the aggressive graft of the PPP.

Storm-sewer:

I see you are now blabbering about Guyana's growing rice industry---400,000+ tons produced last year---most in Guyana's history---and yet you are fuming and finding fault.

Listen storm-sewer! You losers and whiners in the AFC/PNC can bawl and scream day and night--you can complain, condemn and criticize the PPP all you want---you can engage in name calling and cheat insults all you want---but the TRUTH is the DOERS and MOVERS & SHAKERS in Guyana are propelling the country FORWARD---and the esteemed Caribbean Development bank has just acknowledged the economic progress in Guyana.

Keep bawling and screaming storm-sewer--you're good at it--but Guyana is moving forward--and that deeply pains you losers.

The only place you win is with your big, stupid, racist mouth. The only thing you do is highlight that Caribj may be right. There may be, hidden among the bramble bush, black sage and bisibisi patch a discoverable sub group of Indians who can be rightly be called Indo Nazis. You and Yugi are apparently high priests of this sect.

Also, most Guyanese know their lives are in the pits. The above reflects that beggerbowl strategy to meet the needs of our poor.  Were we the bread basket of the Caribbean, as another poster wildly surmised; we would not be on our knees with well worn knee pads supplicating the money gods for cash from heaven.

When we can earn our keep, ie produce a surplus, then you can tell me of progress, When 40 percent of our people do not live below the poverty line and we do not hear ceaseless reports of brazen banditry from the growing scourge of junkies;tell me of progress. When our government gladly open its books so we can be assured the rampant theft is not on going, then tell me of progress.  Meanwhile, we are the classic banana republic being bled dry by a government of leeches.

I have quite a few friends working as economists at CDB. They are economists but they need to be diplomats also. They are bright people. You Rev Al (who works for the PPP) is the one with the very low IQ. Delta Airlines seem to have a different expectation of tourism.

I can read it. I edited it ( without changing any of the words) so you can read also.

Nothing he said there is a falsehood or an invention. He simply insists from his list of issues of a pressing nature that he sees nothing to cheer so vociferously as the Rev is cheering.
