RHTYSC Cricket Development Programme Shemaine Campbelle urges King SL U-12 Cricketers to be disciplined and committed

https://www.kaieteurnewsonline.com/images/2018/02/West-Indies-Female-Cricketers-Erva-Giddings-and-Shemaine-Campbelle-pose.jpgThe Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS Cricket Development Committee under the leadership of Cricket Manager Ravindranauth Kissoonlall on Friday last launched their 2018 Programmes with a special three hours programme with over 40 players of the Rose Hall Town King Solomon Logistics Under-12 Team. The programme was hosted in the compound of the Rose Hall Town Primary School where the team is based and was conducted by West Indies Female Cricketers Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings and National Player Sheneeta Grimmond. Kissoonlall and Vice President Mark Papannah were also part of the Programme which would be conducted twice a month as the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club strives to identify promising players for the future. Similar programmes would also be hosted at four Secondary Schools for the Poonai Pharmacy Under-13 Team in what Club Officials described as a massive outreach programme to maintain the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club status as a producer of outstanding young cricketers.
Campbell and Giddings who are the official Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Ambassadors for the programme were present for the entire duration of the three hours sessions which included two six-overs cricket matches involving both males and females, basic cricket coaching and an inspiration pep talk session. The experienced Campbelle, who has represented the West Indies at both the ODI and 20/20 levels in an inspiring speech to the attentive youths, urged them to develop a culture of discipline, hard work, commitment and to be respectful to those in authority. Campbelle used her own Career as an example as one where success could only be achieved by working hard. Failures and Disappointments, she stated, should be used as an avenue to better ones self. National Junior and Senior Player Sheneeta Grimmond spoke on the Importance of Staying in School to obtain an educational background. The young cricketers were also informed of the benefits of being a Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club member and plans for the future.
Cricket Manager, Ravindranauth Kissoonlall stated that the Club is seeking to select a minimum of twenty four makes and twelve females for a regular coaching programme. He stated that several promising players like Daniella Hicks, Tyrese Seschan, Josiah Arthur and Javi Hubbard have been identified and they would be involved in regular coaching and educational sessions with senior Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club cricketers and Officials. Cricket matches would also be arranged with other schools in the area while at least two Inter-Primary School Tournaments involving schools in the Lower Corentyne area would be arranged.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club have selected Campbelle, Grimmond, Eon Hooper, Shawn Pereira, Clinton Pestano and Kevlon Anderson as the senior cricketers who would work along with the Under-12 players twice per week.
