The final two group games of the 2017 National Club Basketball Championships (Road to Mecca IV) are expected to be action packed when they are contested tonight at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH); the final two semi finals slots are up for the taking. The first match tips off at 19:00hrs between Berbice’ Rose Hall Jammers and Amelia Ward Jets of Linden while the feature match will pair last year’s losing finalists, another Linden side, Retrieve Raiders and Kobras of Georgetown. Both the latter teams are sin with a chance of making it through at the expense of Pacesetters in group B. Jammers will hope to capitalise on the poor form of the winless Jets to achieve a win by 77 points or more in order to secure an unprecedented semifinal berth. Jets that are yet to register a victory and will surely be seeking to finish the tournament on a positive note in their fourth and final group A game. A win for either Raiders or Kobras in tonight’s main attraction will shoot them into the semis. Pacesetters are in with a slight chance of still sniffing through but this depends on Raiders winning by no more than a two point margin. The other two teams that have qualified for the semifinals so far are Bounty Colts and Victory Valley Royals that topped group A and B respectively in the ten-team championship. Admission to the venue is free this evening and apart from the two games; fans will be entertained by a half-time show from the attractive cheerleaders.
