Rose Hall Jammers continue dominancy in Berbice basketball tournaments

Rose Hall Town Jammers defeated Hopetown Stealers 57-45 when the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association 2017 Basketball Tournament, sponsored by Nigel Hinds, for teams in Berbice continued Sunday last at the Litchfield Basketball Court. The venue had to be changed from Hopetown to Litchfield as a result of the inclement weather.
Roy Borne Murray top scored with 21 points for Jammers. He received excellent support from Mikel Lewis (15) and David Hope (11). At the end of the first quarter, the Jammers led 17-11 and when the half time whistle came it was 24-20 in favor of the winners. Ruel Edwards and Kelon Webster top scored with (18) and (13) each for Hopetown.
Ithaca Hardliners will next take on Canje Knights at the Vryman’s Erven Basketball Court in New Amsterdam.
Six teams are involved in the competition which is being played on a round robin basis in two zones. Zone A includes Canje Knight, Fryish Black Shark and Ithaca Hardliners, while Zone B comprises of Rose Hall Town Jammers, Hopetown Stealers and NA Warriors.
Trophis, cash and other incentives are up for grabs.
The tournament is being organized by President of the Berbice Basketball Association Vibert Garrett.
