Nehru, my friend you hit the nail on the head, most of these bloggers sit in the comfort of North America and write negative things of the ruling government, they should go and see for them selves. I visited Guyana last year and spent one month, I travelled east to west and south, the people are much happier, you can buy anything, you don't have to take barrel and many suitcases with stuff, you can purchase foreign currency at any amount. When travelling you see the many new housing schemes, many factories,the pride of ownership with lovely flower front gardens, look at the many new motor vehicles. Today, tourism has grown, foreigners returning to retire and invest, when ,before in the PNC era one would be afraid to invest, for the gov't will nationalise your company and limit what you can take out of the country. The society, today is one where if you work hard you reap the benefits, look in the local papers there are tons  of jobs, skilled and unskilled, go down Water, Robb or Regent streets and see the the help wanted signs, USA and Canada people wants work and there is no jobs. Remember, Guyana is still a third world country with many more mile to travel, Cheers.

Our SWEET Guyana has been transformed to a magnificent Place where ANYONE who is willing to work hard can become a successful Citizen.

With a pocket full of foreign currency for a short duration, life in guyana can seem like a dream.

He don't have to go back and live. Many who became citizens of the US, they do visit and come back. One don't have to ring a bell when visiting Guyana either. That's a private matter. We in the diaspora are part of our homeland and the nation building. Our remittance speaks volume of our contribution. Guyana is working in partnership with the diaspora by seeking skills and professional individuals, especially retirees and an opportunity to remigrate. I spoke to a Trini last night and he said Guyana will surpass Trinidad in the next decade if the PPP remains in power. I believe that.
