Seventy β Five signs bearing the names of streets in Albouystown were erected today (Wednesday, June 25] by the Guyana Police Force, community members and employees of a business establishment within the community as part of the Impact Albouystown Project.
Commissioner of Police (ag), Seelall Persaud believes this will enhance inter-agency monitoring and enforcement efforts in the various mining districts of the interior to boost its crime fighting strategy.
The Guyana Police Force has recorded a 5% drop in total serious crimes this year when compared to last year.
The total number of reports of serious crimes made between January 01 and May 31, 2014, was 1,605 compared to 1,523 for the same period in 2013.
