There are 34 Senate seats up for re-election. Of those 24 are Republicans. This is a reversal of the 2010 mid-terms. A lot of those Republican seats up for re-election are in States that are more Democratic than Republican. Reverse wave this time? Maybe not, but the Dems can pick up 6 seats which will bring the Dems from their current 44 to 50. With the VP in the bag they will have the majority. 

The gerrymandered House will take a generation along with State Legislatures and Governorships going Democrat to change the Republican builtin lead.
