Ok Folks, it is time that we call a spade a spade.
As we all know, the almost non existent President of Guyana should be a ashamed of his government's response to the Biggest Massacre of Berbice fishermen.
Thanks to President Jagdeo's trip to Suriname, the AFC/PNC was put to shame. In fact, it further exposes the incompetence of the AFC/PNC administration.
Any country's President is always at the frontline when such a disaster happens but a usual, Granger who has been getting a free pass and was nowhere to be seen.
Had this happened to Linden residents, would the President have been this slow to respond ? You guessed it right.
It took several days for this government to even make an official statement and when they eventually did, it was vague and lack of sympathy for the families of those affected by this tragedy.
From the very start President Jagdeo showed up to sympathize with family members. Where was the AFC/PNC MP's when the families needed support the most ? Where was Ramjattan and Moses ?
Wait, you will hear the B/S excuses from AFC/PNC supporters that Jagdeo is making this matter political but ask the family members of those affected and they will tell you that they would prefer to spit on deadbeat politicians.
You see, Jagdeo travelled to Suriname in his capacity as opposition leader with Attorney General Nandall to comfort families affected and only after they showed up in Suriname that Ramjattan made an announcement that he will be travelling to Suriname.
No amount of excuses can attempt to cover up this shameless manner in which the AFC/PNC handled this terrible tragedy. Even the BBC and world press published this terrible tragedy while the AFC/PNC administration failed to represent Berbicians. To date, no official visits by AFC/PNC MP's have been reported.
Guess what ? It appears as if Berbicians are not considered Guyanese by this administration.
