Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Stable take champion stable honours
The Shariff continues to show who the boss is as Settling Star destroyed a top notch field to show that it will be the horse to beat. Classified as a G2 animal and owned by the Shariff Stable, with Zahir Shariff the trainer. The horse continues to go up in class and defeat all and sundry as it chalked up consecutive wins in the feature event. The occasion was the Kennard Memorial Turf Club Pre Emancipation horserace meet held last Sunday at the Clubβs track, Bush Lot, Corentyne, Berbice. Riding in the feature D3 and lower 1800M event, the animal ridden by the crafty Colin Ross, bode its time nicely before running away from the top notch field that included Lady Budapest, Honey Flow, Brave Sky and Golden Blue Echo among others. For the win it copped the coveted $1M and Trophy compliments of Demerara Distilleries Limited. Occupying the other spots were Golden Blue Echo, Brave Sky and Lady Budapest. The Nand Persaud Stable won the E2 and lower Five Furlongs race and the $400,000 with a one two victory with Honey Flow winning from Golden Blue Echo with Storm Bird third. The Nand Persaud Stable was again in winnersβ row in the H2 and Lower event with T and T running away with the 7 furlongs event from Midnight Blue to take home the $250,000 winners money. Party Time of the DeMatos stable had things all its way as the racehorse won the event for animals classified I3 n lower and 3 Year-Old Guyana Bred Open from Miss Olympic, Mary Ann and Red Jet. The K class non-winners and L Open race ran over 6 furlongs with a $120,000 purse offer. Liquid Lion was solid as it roared to the front in the J and lower race ahead of King Stanley, Miss Olympic and Irish Baby. Irish Baby returned to win the K non winnersβ race from Royal Son, Mystery Man and De Rock. Lucky Lucky, beat the field in the L none winners race with Party Done, Sweet Silence and Angel Eyes occupying the other spots. Top stable was the Nand Persaud Karibee Rice stable. The top trainer award went to Mohendra Persaud of the Karibee Rice Stable. They received accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market.
