You can call me every name from the unholy book, but I will speak the way I sees it. It is evident that Indians in Guyana have money, property and jewelry that they passed on to their children and grandchildren as generational custom. It is also known that Indians are involved in many different types of businesses that they have to maintain a quantity of cash on hands most of the time.

Every day we read the news papers, it's sadden to see another Indian is robbed, beaten and kill merciless.

Unfortunately, the police who is supposed to protect the citizens are part of the crime to protect the perpetrators.

Recently, we've seen the slow response from the police force that is evident to this conclusion.

I believe that the group of criminals are organized with government information on who to attack and when to attack. These criminals work out of their jurisdiction, and know the details of their intended target.

Some criminals spend hours terrorizing their victims until they get every penny, and not worrying about police. How could this happen?

If this continues at the current rate, in five years, Indians will be penniless, if not dead or badly wounded, and beg for black man mercy.

Go out and take what belongs to you by any means necessary.  Indians, remember this quote!

Add the number of Indians being criminally targeted, to include Indians who are fired under suspicion of corruption by the coalition, and the fact that the two Indians in the top position are not going to speak out about discrimination, and the fact that any Indians who complain about this problem are immediately branded as racists....and you have a very bleak picture for Indians in Guyana

.....not to mention the fact that every one want to define how Jagdeo and the PPP should behave and reform themselves, but they are unwilling to tell the coalition and Grander and his squaddies to do the same............

Hope Guyana does not become like Fiji where the natives are driving out Indians and they pass a law that no Indian can become a leader for the country...this was after they invaded the parliament and deposed the majority-led Indian government years ago.

Another thing to keep in mind my friend, the Sean Hinds revelation. Coming form the horses mouth that the PNC taught him to kill, and police are part of the robbery and killing was NOT surprising to me. But my Brahmin friend in Canada was quick to say the man story has no credibility, but at the same time, believe Sean was a phantom squad member under the PPP administration.

Like your stupid presumption of names in an unholy book so is your claims that indians are specifically targeted by criminals to the exclusion of others.  I guess you cannot help but project that racist venom that poisons you to the conclusion that only black people are criminals.

The Presumption that indians have money is also a joke. Indians like black people make up that statistic that leaves our nation the second from the bottom among poor countries in the west. Some 40 percent survive on barely 2 dollars a day and from that pool over generations there can hardly be much savings to pass on. Given they are prodigious baby makers also that little has to go far among the kids! Statistically....not the idiotic kind you reference above but the real one born of studies by serious people of indian and African ilk ( including Ravi Dev) insist both groups are haplessly mired in deep poverty! Don't bask in the reflected glow of a few and think you are in the money.

The point fool is that Indians make up the criminals no less than blacks.  That would begin in the PPP who were the merchants of the crime industry for over two decades. Every top echelon drug dealer is an indian and that is borne out by who the US apprehended. Note the criminal PPP government were not concerned with that but sought to hide their drug friends.

The reality is that every junkie that exists is a criminal since they have to feed a habit. Unfortunately, for our society drug use is everywhere so junkies exist everywhere in every family so the stick up boys most likely comes from these ranks. It is what happens. Criminals are opportunistic bottom feeders and prey on everyone since there is no being without remorse and a conscience than a junkie.

You simpletons sit back here in your idle time and refuse to look to our society objectively. You only see that nasty racist bullshit that is the vestiges of casteism so your new sudra is the black man. Alas. I think you need to look more closely.

Why did crime increase after the PPP lost the election ?

Documents proved millions of dollars was routed with no project completed, under the PPP government. Where did it go ?

We know the PPP is good at demanding bribes and vindictive/nasty to those  they don't like.

Does the PPP like the Coalition government, that is inclusive of all Guyanese ?

I am convinced there is a PNC conspiracy (radicals) to accelerate the reduction of the Indian population to ensure victory in 2020.  They are a bit miffed that there was not a panic run after the PNC took over.  Don't put anything past them, you heard how they tried to get Sean Hinds to shoot-up Congress Place as an excuse to pull off another "Sun Chapman" episode as a pretext to massacre Indians.  You rest assure also, Crum-Ewing was either a drug or PNC hit.

A strange Scene

in the Whim Magistrate Court Yard:

A graceful Bharrat Jagdeo?

June 23, 2015

by Dr. David Hinds

I have to admit that I was taken aback

when former President Jagdeo hailed me up

at the Whim Magistrate Court

as he was leaving the court yard

following his court appearance

in the case brought against him by Christopher Ram.

A graceful Jagdeo?

I guess stranger things have happened in politics.

I acknowledged and returned the gesture

for I hold no personal animosity against political opponents.

It is against their politics and political culture that I rage.

No Base, I did not..give us your opinion na...I gave mine above and it seem logical to me. Especially what I know of the PPP for decades, especially during the last few years, with some on the CC.

The PPP track record proved  they can create this scenario.

Yes yes, PPP create a scenario where Sean Hinds will accuse the ruling PNC of being involved in terrorism, and he living there.  Sometimes hatred make sensible people lose logic.

You would be convinced of that since better modes of processing information are outside your grasp. You always gravitate to that hasty shade of wrong that typifies sub performing bigots like you.

And what is this Sun Chapman syndrome you reference so often? It is 35 black people that died cruelly on account of some tragedy that one or the other side of our cretinous racist divide pull out of their hats when they want to obfuscate and confuse and not deal with the reality before them.

The PPP stole so much and so brazenly it caused their own to cross the line in sufficient numbers to join a motivated group across the divide to remove them from office. None of that lot is rehabilitatable. There ranks is contaminated, poisoned, made radioactive from protracted  and long term injury to our society. Their greed, contempt and incompetence all converged for a perfect storm the see them kicked to the curb. They now have to actually do real work, something they never practiced, so thinking that hapless crew will see office soon is wishful thinking. Even a mediocre APNU will be preferable to that corrupted lot.

I suggest you be careful with your phrasing since I do intent to make good fodder of you on that account. I am not obliged to provide statistics to counter nonsense.

In any event I did reference what is commonly considered the mean given the WB and our social scientists place our poverty level at about 40 percent.

It is also a self evident proposition since our mean income is 3500 US dollars in a society where the household income index is measured on items priced at US levels.

What other substantiating fact do you need to counter magical thinking of 99% of indians being targeted and which you obviously swallowed whole cloth?

Youths must become

crusaders for national reconciliation

-Minister Roopnaraine,

at working session of

National Youth Policy task force

July 3, 2015

Guyana Chronicle

STICKING to its 100-day commitment to improve the situation of youths in Guyana by the implementation of a National Youth Policy, the Government of Guyana, through the Ministry of Education, has brought together a wide cross section of youths and private and civil society members for a two-day working session, aimed at advancing the process of finalising a National Youth Policy and discussing the broad themes of a National Youth Action Plan.

Day one of the session opened yesterday at the Arthur Chung International Convention (ACIC) Centre, Liliendaal, with Minister of Education Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine charging the youths present to become crusaders for national reconciliation.

The Minister said that in his mind, there is no more sacred task confronting youths and Guyana than that of healing of the nation.

“We have a nation that is always hovering on the brink of self-destruction, we need to heal thisâ€Ķwe need to reconcile,” Minister Roopnaraine said,

speaking of the division that has characterised Guyana since the 1960s.

Dr. Roopnaraine pointed out that Guyanese youths have inherited this fractured and polarised society, and that Guyana cannot move forward as a nation without once again reclaiming and regaining that united anti-colonial democratic movement that it had in the fight for independence.

“It is what we in the Government committed ourselves to, it was what inspired the formation of our Government,” Dr. Roopnaraine said.

He noted that this first movement to national reconciliation came about by the reconciliation of the Working People’s Alliance and the People’s National Congress, two warring parties.

“Some of you may be too young to know something about the bitterness of the fight that these two parties were engaged in,” the Minister told the youths.

He explained that in the 1970s, led by Walter Rodney of the WPA, a national movement developed and “we entered into the most furious conflict with the People’s National Congress.”

He noted, however, that the day came, “when we recognised the need for reconciliation,” and from these two warring parties came the movement for national unity and the bedrock of this alliance, A Partnership for National Unity (APNU.)

Though the country has developed to the point where it now is, there is yet much to be done,” Dr. Roopnaraine noted.

“We still live in a society where there is too much suspicion between major sections of the society,” he said.

“I am convinced  and I believe that you must be convinced after all this time, and all this experience that without joining forces, without in effect becoming one nation, and devoting ourselves to the construction of that one nation, we as a country will falter,” He said.

He urged the youths to embark on this crusade of reconciliation and to “embrace a crusade of love and neighbourliness.”

Addressing Government’s recognition of the importance of providing a framework for positive development of all Guyanese youths, Minister Roopnarine noted that youths are not only the future, but also “youths are here and now.”

In terms of basic arithmetic, Guyanese under 35 years of age make up 70 percent of the national demographics and are disproportionally affected by “every ill thing that our society has to offer,” the Minister noted.

“â€Ķthis process that you are embarking on is engaging youths to find solutions about these problems,” the Minister said,

adding that he needs an action plan. “â€ĶWhat I am interested in is implementation, any report that comes to me that does not have a programme of implementation and an action plan is not a report that I am going to spend a lot of my time on,” the Minister said.

Highlighting how critical it is to empower youths to make meaningful contributions to Guyana’s sustainable development, Minister Roopnaraine pointed out that “the sustainable solutions and actions, for society in a stage of crisis or pre-crisis, have always come from young people.”

He noted that the journey of persons like Forbes Burnham, Cheddi Jagan, Walter Rodney, Martin Luther King Jnr., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Fidel Castro and Barack Obama all began in earnest during the days of their youth.

“They did not come to where they reached by accidentâ€Ķthey were inspired and nurtured in their youth,” he said.

He promised that Government will offer avenues for such nurturing for Guyanese youths.

“â€Ķ we are going to listen to you, take your recommendations, work with you as partners, in making this society one that we can all be proud of,” he said.

Meanwhile, Presidential Advisor on Youth Empowerment, Aubrey Norton, in his presentation, noted that these working sessions are intended to encourage serious discussions on the question of the National Youth Policy and a National Action Plan.

“It is important for us to recognise that we are here for ideas to clash, and not personalities,” he said.

“â€Ķ.we welcome the clash of ideas, we welcome free and, frank discussions that allow us to disagree, but then arrive at a consensus on the way forward,” he added.

Norton noted that Government has already shown that it has the political will to ensure young people develop a policy by their participation.

He said that the intention is make sure that “we place youth work on a professional footing.”

“â€Ķthe intention is to professionalise youth work so that young people can be involved in youth work; well trained, well preparedâ€Ķyoung people who are in a position to represent themselves and not necessarily be presented by someone else,” he said.

The two-day session, which will see presentations and also youths being involved in panel and groups discussions on the National Youth Policy and a National Youth Action Plan, is being convened in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Hinds’ Sight

History for Everyone:

The United PPP and the 1953 Election

August 8, 2015

THE 1953 election, the first held under self-rule and universal adult suffrage, was won by the then PPP, which represented a united anti-colonialist nationalist independence movement.

Its leadership included Cheddi Jagan, Forbes Burnham, Eusi Kwayana, Janet Jagan, Ashton Chase, and Martin Carter, among others.

The party campaigned on a platform of self-government, and economic and social reforms that affect the working people, such as better education, health services, housing and better wages.

When the results were announced, the PPP had won 18 of the 24 seats, with 51 percent of the popular vote, giving it a majority in the legislative assembly.

The middle-class National Democratic Party, an alliance of the African, East Indian, and Portuguese petty bourgeoisie that was backed by the colonial establishment, won two seats, with 13 percent of the popular vote.

The remaining seats were won by four independent candidates who each ran localised community campaigns.

This victory had serious implications for Guyana’s future, both for the short term and the long term.

Upon attaining office, the PPP attempted to use its majority in the Assembly to implement its policies promised during the campaign, and ultimately change the character of the state.

The following changes were made during the first four months in office:

the ban against entering the country by leaders deemed to be subversive was promptly lifted;

the Undesirable Publication Law was repealed;

the 1945 Rice Farmers Security Tenure Ordinance was amended to make the landlords rather than the tenant farmer ultimately responsible for the upkeep of the land, and to protect the tenant farmers by enacting a standard rental for land;

a Labour Relations Bill was passed in the Lower House making it legal for employers to negotiate with trade unions which gained majority support for union representatives to visit work places, and prevent victimisation of workers.

For the first time in the country’s history, the ordinary working people had gained some stake in the state.

The Rice Farmers Security of Tenure amendment and the Labour Relations Bill challenged the landlord and planter class, two groups which hitherto exercised considerable influence over the state.

But it was the Labour Relations Bill which infuriated the ruling classes the most.

Sensing that the company union, the ManPower Citizens Association (MPCA) would be displaced by the PPP-affiliated Guiana Industrial Workers Union (GIWU) in a fair poll of workers on the sugar estates, the bosses tried to destroy the bill by deeming it a communist ploy.

However, to demonstrate its support for the bill, the GIWU called out its members on a strike which threatened the attainment of the sugar quota for that year.

This incensed the capitalist class which was concerned about the drop in profits.

It is no coincidence that the Colonial Office landed troops in the country, suspended the Constitution, and dismissed the PPP ministers in the cabinet on the very day that the bill was passed in the assembly.

The suspension of the Constitution was supported by most of the nominated members of the Legislature.

What was at play here was a convergence of class and ideology, as the nominated members were all representatives of the elite classes who were procapitalist and staunchly anticommunist.

They were prepared to sanction armed intervention to restore their class domination of the state.

The PPP, from its inception, had declared itself staunchly antiimperialist and socialist.

Although some of the leaders used strong socialist rhetoric, only a few could be called communist.

The leadership also included trade unionists, whose socialism was more along the lines of the British Labor Party, and also religious leaders.

However, the platform of the party, the visits by the leading members to communist countries, were enough to earn it the labels of revolutionary, socialist, and communist;

hence, the reason that anticommunism became the central theme of the opposition to the PPP during the election campaign, and the subsequent actions of the colonial authorities.

The PPP intended its triumph at the elections to pave the way for national independence based on a democratic working class and multi-ethnic ideology.

But it turned out to be the catalyst for the dislocation of the movement and its seizure by the petty bourgeoisie with the support of British and US imperialism.

It also turned out to be the beginning of the deterioration of race relations among the working class.

Roopnarine is not saying what has not been stated ad nauseam. Ir is time to take proactive steps to address this lacking...faith that we can live and work together as a national community.

We need symbols, iconography, ideology etc to organize around and not human gods fabricated out of our distrust for each others as our focus. We head a national ideology that can mobilize us to communitarian thinking and not the useless slogans about togetherness or even our one people one nation bull crap.

We also need institutions dedicated to meet communal needs and if Granger needs to rework a new social contract he needs to bend backwards into the philosophical canon of our western intellectual traditions  as a toolkit to guide our people into crafting one.

You cannot re engineer a society by platitudes as above. Societies are organic and grow on their own and in good ways if   constrained by a compact, a constitution that enshrines justice, equality and liberty for all.

It is pure bullshit to say we are going to do this or that without institutionalizing  these bony structured concepts as a framework around which we can build.

Hope Guyana does not become like Fiji where the natives are driving out Indians and they pass a law that no Indian can become a leader for the country...this was after they invaded the parliament and deposed the majority-led Indian government years ago.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!  FRIGGIN SHAMELESS HOUSE SLAVES.  NEE MACK NEE MACK NEE MAKARAM HE SAID HE WILL NOT BE, HIS OWN DEFINITION IS ON YOUTUBE!!  BLOODY BLOOD SUCKING HOUSE SLAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What amazed me is that since Grainger took control, people stop looking in the right direction, and put all confidence in the PNC.
Crime against Indians is no longer their problem, but they make excuses for the criminals. I always said you never learn until the criminal you support hits home.

You need to ease up on that piwari!!
