The good book teaches us that a brother is supposed to protect his sister and showed her respect at all times. Here is a self defense case where a sister stabbed her brother who was under the influence of alcohol and using abusive language and wielding a knife after punching his father. What is this world is coming to?

The sister of Maxton Lawrie has confessed to Police that she stabbed her brother in self-defence.

Police have since concluded their investigations and have sent the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

Investigations revealed that the sister perpetrated the act after she was verbally aggravated by her brother, a rice farmer, who was armed with a knife at the time.

According to reports, Lawrie, 30, went home about midnight on August 24, 2016 under the influence of alcohol and began to argue with his father, Maxwell Lawrie. The argument escalated and it is alleged that Lawrie dealt a cuff to his father’s right eye.

After assaulting his father, he rushed to his sister’s room, armed with a knife, and knocked on her door. Stephanie Lawrie, 24, opened the door and was confronted by her brother who was hurling expletives and remarks about her personal life – still wielding the knife.

Lawrie allegedly tried to hurt his sister with the knife when she, in self-defence, stabbed him to his right side lower abdomen.

Bleeding profusely, Maxton was rushed by family to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Lawrie was in a common-law relationship, and his wife is said to be four months pregnant.

The deceased was described as a habitual drinker who constantly verbally abusing his parents.
