Position Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Temporary Contract: April 2018 until December 2018, exact start and end dates to be discussed

**YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST FIVE (5) YEARS OF BOOKKEEPING EXPERIENCE USING QUICKBOOKS SOFTWARE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION**

Days/Hours: PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

Third Week of Each Month; Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (8 hours per month)

A periodic change of work days and/or hours may be required.

Rate of Pay: $20 to 25 per hour ($160 to $200 per month), depending on experience

Deadline: March 28, 2018; accepting applications until filled.

Anticipated Start Date: April 17, 2018; a paid training date prior to start date is required

The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC) is a Section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The organization's mission is to further economic development, historic preservation, and cultural enrichment in the greater Atlantic Avenue area. The AALDC provides information, advocacy, produces events and projects that promote economic growth and vitality, for the preservation and development in downtown Brooklyn and neighboring communities.

Part-time Bookkeeper Summary:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Part-time Bookkeeper is responsible for performing monthly reconciliations, monthly petty cash reports, vendor deposit data entry and other bookkeeping tasks, as needed.

Duties of the position include:

Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Reconciliation of monthly bank statements in QuickBooks
• Research and fix any discrepancies found, as needed
• Print reconciliation reports for each account and submit to Executive Director and Treasurer upon completion

Monthly Petty Cash Reports

• Organize all petty cash receipts and scan to save to e-files
• Enter all petty cash receipts on monthly worksheet
• Submit petty cash report to Executive Director

Vendor Deposit Data Entry

• Enter all vendor payment deposits in QuickBooks; separate the payment allocations if applicable

Donor Tracking Reports

• Learn donor tracking within QuickBooks and how to implement into monthly bookkeeping reports

Other duties and tasks may be assigned, as needed

Requirements:

• At least five (5) years of bookkeeping experience is a MUST
• Experience working with QuickBooks 2016 Premier is a MUST
• Experience working with QuickBooks Nonprofit Edition is a huge plus
• Bank reconciliation experience is a MUST
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Excel is a MUST
• Data entry experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is a MUST
• Experience with GMAIL is a MUST
• Experience with Google Drive and Google Sheets is a huge plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Works well under pressure and tight deadlines
• Experience working as part of a team is a plus
• Very detail oriented and organized
• Quick learner
• Self-starter
• MUST be fluent in the English language
