President Obama has nothing to lose so he must pull an FDR and make fundamental changes to rebalance the economic scale for the poor and middle class.

1) I say 70% taxation after your first million of income for individuals.

2) 0.1 percent surcharge on every stock trade and let this money go towards programs solely for the middle class and poor.

What is your opinion about the abolition of income tax replaced by a flat sales tax to offset loss of that revenue?

I do not support it because the poor and middle class spend a much higher % of their income versus the top 1%.

Is there any value to the argument that the poor and middle class would have a higher level of disposable income to spend on things that they need rather than surrender a part of it up front in tax deductions?
