Mr.Glason Mack celebrates his 100 birthday

GLANSON Mack of Block ‘E’, Lot 11 South Sophia, Greater Georgetown, celebrated his 100th birthday Sunday at his home.

The centenarian attributes his long life to healthy eating and his Christian upbringing.

He declared: “I lived my life, a very ordinary one, no partying because I was a church going person.”

Mack said he attended Aurora Methodist Church on Essequibo Coast and grew up in a Christian family.

One of his daughters explained that his mother died when he was two years old and his father passed away when he was 15.

“When his parents died, he came to Georgetown to live with his aunt and two brothers and sisters, among whom he is the eldest sibling,” she said.

Mack, who was a farmer, said, when he was younger, in his free time, he would spend it at church, then go to the seawalls with his girlfriend. Now that he is 100 years old, he spends most of his time at home with his family.

Mack has 26 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren
