Spotlight: Guyanese Born Scientist, Dr Paulianda Jones

10 years ago, Guyanese born Paulianda Jones received her doctorate in chemistry from University of Virginia in 2007, the same year she was named to Black Enterprise magazine’s “2007 HOT LIST: America’s Most Powerful Players Under 40.”

This Guyanese born native has been recognized for her success in neuropharmacological research, focusing on possible treatments for Parkinson’s disease and anxiety disorders. The 38-year-old Jones is currently Upper School Science Teacher at Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

Early last year she was interviewed by Vanderbilt University. Here is what she had to say about her journey to a successful career.
