That Stabroek News is persisting with a storyline concocted by one of its overzealous reporters is yet another example of the debts the newspaper has sunk to in trying to compete with its muck-racking rival as the national purveyor of all things bad. Despite all the other reports to the contrary Stabroek News is still peddling the 'uncertainly' and 'friendly fire' lines regarding the recent shooting of a policeman by an escaped prisoner.

And this is is no doubt being done to save face. Stabroek wanted to outdo its competition with regards to the speed of its report so it reported onsite gossip emanating from the sidelines of the scene. But instead of admitting its obvious mistake (even Kaieteur News reported today that the suspect has admitted shooting the policemen by accident) the newspaper persists with its lie. And this is how the supposedly 'independent' and 'professional' media houses operate in Guyana.

"Warrior" in this time of grief for the lost of this brave policeman, who put his life at risk for the protection of others, you are posting no remorse...smh
