Why President Jagdeo built Skeldon Sugar Factory when he was aware of waht is going on the world market with sugar?

He was hoping it will be more efficient. Sugar is an important commodity in the World. If manage properly it is a blessing for Guyana. When the PPP in Govt Sugar did well, when PNC takes over, they destroy not only sugar but everything.  Know your History and facts!!!

Indeed a blunder by jaggy but we must remember that skeldon plans predates jaggy. He was just carrying out the mandate of previous administration which included ramjattan and nagamootoo.

Now we have to deal with the amount of people who will be out of work. Hope the oil industry will take off and provide a little relief.

How many sugar workers have the necessary skills to work in the oil industry?  I see the Chevening Scholar has returned home.  Hopefully he can provide some leadership in that area if he nah decide to run for President.
