[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyana has seen its fair share of suicides with the country being labelled with the highest suicide rate in the world and while there is no long term plan currently in place to tackle the issue, President David Granger believes that an active hotline may help.

It is time the President take a proactive interest in the suicide epidemic. And the government should request professional assistance from overseas because the human resources within Guyana are clearly insufficient.

It surprised me that the majority of suicides are in the East Indian community, but that the former PPP regime did nothing to tackle the issue.  I have often wondered if that is because suicide amongst the East Indians is seen as an accepted way of life. I know it is amongst the Japanese and South Koreans.

This is all Political Diversion.

A hotline to report a suicide...not to prevent one. If during a crime you call the police and the phone goes unanswered, what makes you think that the hotline operator will be awake?

T, Even in tragedy, you see politics. You are so frigging blind and imbecile that you cannot differentiate reality from fiction.

I pity the fool.  He injects race into everything.  This issue is beyond race and politics Mr. T.  Take off those dark glasses and stop perpetrating hatred.
