Heard teachers are marching in Georgetown protesting and many did not show up to school countrywide today. First day of school and no teachers.

The teachers are there to teach and manage their money better. They should get back to the classroom or face the firing line.
Ganger black wall of silence slowly crumbling.

Like you trying to get Drugb in trouble, channeling Ron DeSantis.
Granger made a political blunder by failing to address teachers concern. He just lost some critical votes.
YUgi, come Election time many Teachers will still vote PNC!!! It is who they are!!!
Nehru Bhai, you have a point.

Well Nehru bhai may have a big mouth, he does make sense.
DEmerara, ask Ray what else BIG on Uncle Nehru
Big foot, big eyes, big belly, etc., perhaps, Nehru.

Where PPP might benefit is that some of these teachers may abscond from the polls, no reason for a turnout if your party is not addressing your needs.
This is what I was guessing can happen in Guyana as happened in the last election in the USA. African Americans became fed up with the Democratic Party and decided to stay home.
It will be an uphill battle for the PNC to win the next election unless they rig.

I think the PNC is weakening its support base.
It's ridiculous that the Granger Admin sat on a report for months. They had no intention of honoring it. The made a stupid excuse that it is "deficient". What report did they use to give themselves a 50% raise?

teachers deserve a living wage
but statements such as this do not advance the case, cater to the underinformed mob, and are in the main political/polemical with nothing to do with the welfare of Union members
jackass junior minister Keith Scott apologized . . . that is a very good thing for people power in the country
Union leadership also on the hot seat, not just the Government

I hear it all the time. It seems like most are using it as the benchmark. Critics are pointing to the 50% salary hike which senior government ministers were granted just months into office in 2015.
Will the other unions come out in solidarity? Teachers may not be able to survive for more than a month at the picket line.

Mitwah, my fear is that it is being used as a benchmark for negotiations
that is illiterate
Union leadership needs to be careful that it does not coerce the Gov't into fiscal ruin
Ronan, I hope they can compromise quickly. Granger's leadership is on the test here.
Teachers are on the streets in thousands and not a single word from the President of the country.

What does he care about leadership? The man pack his bag and gone to Barbados. The Finance Minister and the Minister of State are in New York dancing in the streets.
Keith Scott is representing him. Guyanese who voted for change are finding out. They never missed the water until the well ran dry.
Granger and the PNC deadbeats are waiting for PPP aile money.

PNC is busy dealing with an internal power struggle.
And now Sharma is saying that he is willing to give back the Ministry of Finance to the PPP. I donât see Django post that thread. Like he miss the biggest news in Guyana today.

That's old news.
Trouble in the PNC camp.
As usual, DJ will not post anything negative about the PNC.
Could it be true that he is being manipulated by someone in the PNC ?
I can confirm that there is a serious power struggle in the PNC but as usual, they will kiss and make up.
Unlike Indos who will start a big brawl and try to bruk up their party. Mitwah and our GNI Weeder Gang comes to mind.
