Hello Amral  and Ray,

I am pleased to see that  GNI discussion forum has improved from the constant  personal attacks and course language.

Its a place  I come to relax, have some fun and obtain information from other posters, some whom I get to know personally.

I believe this is  mainly due to the moderators  being noticed as everyday posters and  interacting with the discussion.

In the past moderators were seen as being the heavy, but now moderator are perceived to be part of the conversation. They  also  make posters aware that the moderator is nearby and are aware of the happenings of the board.

We all had our trying periods in the past,  enabling us to evolve positively to this level of comfort for everyone.  I believe this method of moderating  is best for GNI  and I can see others being encouraged to post, instead of just reading.

In the past, I noticed some posters interacting angrily with each other, but in time these same posters mellowed in their interaction thru gentle moderating.  In my opinion, a relationship of understanding is being formed between the posters, that also benefits the atmosphere of the site.

Thanks for making this site possible for us. As a Guyanese people,  we need to have more things that hold us together to build, instead of dividing us.

Take care,

The discussion on GNI has improved because many are now realizing the harsh reality that is now facing our beloved country.

The hatred and lies are now turning into wonder for the mere survival of our brothers and sisters who will be facing the wrath of the Granger military dictatorship.

Right in front of our eyes, we are witnessing the death of democracy, the malicious harassment of those who stand up for justice, the unemployment of over 10,000 sugar workers, the destruction of the rice industry.  And the worst is yet to come.

Those of us who threw those people under the bus must now watch from afar and imagine their suffering.  Some are starting to recollect their own stories of when they fled from the Burnham dictatorship.  Some are remorseful.  Some will never admit their guilt.  Some will bury their heads in the sand.  Oh, if only we could turn back time.

Yes, GNI is a more sobering place now.  Run for the hills and watch the house burn to the ground that you set on fire.  Then look to the godforsaken sky and wonder - are they dead or alive.  Look on your hands and watch the blood drip to the soil from the wretched blows you delivered.

O, Dear Land of Guyana!

Looking back Im sure the game would have been played the same. The object of the game is to get rid of those in govt and hope for change. Unfortunately, the Granger govt has made mistake after mistake and many who wanted change are turned off by this.

Does this mean we wish to see the same people who fed from the trough during PPP term in office?

No dammit! It seems the PPP do not seem to get the picture, they themselves need change..they will not get back in as long as they look upon  BJ as their God.

Oh rass, now me blushing big time, It neva used to show because ah me complexion, but today its showing all ova.

Sunil, sorry I missed your name on the letter, but I was not sure who all the moderators were.

I still believe posters on this site could do more for the youth in Guyana, without race and politics.  I was just about to make a phone call to a poster for the first time and try to collaborate on another project for youth in Guyana. Dis time no one on GNI gonna know, especially those short listed to criticize.

Next Tuesday our city will have an  inaugural  meeting for our Interfaith Council. Our church sponsored two  Muslim refugee families  and they would like us to speak about our work in developing countries  with different cultures and the Golden Rule poster we placed on our visits.

The most emotional place was a mud-wall church in  Acteal, Chiapas Mexico,[Google] where 45 women, children and old men were killed by paramilitary forces, all at one time. Pregnant women were cut open, with babies still alive.  Rass, dis world is a nasty place and we need to step forward to overcome evil, with good.

O, Dear Land of Guyana!

Bibi, me agree that the present government is not delivering what is best for all Guyanese.

Regarding  all the discussion that took place on GNI, with posters siding with their race and politics.

What in your opinion is the best solution for Guyana ?

Because there is  a lot of big talk on GNI putting down  each other race and politics,  but little action  on solutions that would benefit all Guyanese equally.

O, Dear Land of Guyana!

I have to agree with you on almost every count here.  The PPP and BJ had their gaps, their flaws, like any mortal being, but they were not the root of every ill.  Suicides were not a BJ or PPP cause, the criminality was not all theirs, neither was corruption of drugs.  They were blamed for everything under the sun, yet people forget the Guyana of 1992 they inherited. People forget the deprivation, the suffering, the racist oppression and sided with Satan!

The PPP kept the ship upright awaiting for a resourceful way out of the limited economic boundaries, but they kept the ship moving forward anyway!

Coolies are an ungrateful bunch!  The crabs could now just wring their hands helplessly and hide their heads in shame, for those who do have any shame!

It's armageddon once again, and the Tolas, Gilbakas, Cains, etc must be blissfully proud of the evil they help deliver onto the Indians and others of Guyana!

You are one should run for the hills!!  Why don't you deliver on your lil suicide mission.  Or is it too hot to handle.  The boys in the PPP had a country to run, you took up the cause of a thin slice on an issue and failed miserably by every measure.

Rather than asking Bibi what is the solution, why don't you tell us the solution for the one cause you championed....and failed at!!

Stop trying to impress Curly_Sue and other newbies with your long winded [non] accomplishments and tell us, after all these years, what is the solution for YOUR one lil cause!

Let's start there!
