Dude, quite hyperventilating on nothing like a crack addict. There is racism in the US and Europe at different levels, some real nasty and in your face and others insidiously institutionalized through long practice. However, these are the only place that hold as its ideals and have instruments in the law to enforce transgressions, a policy of intolerance for it.  All of us are here and can travel across Europe in safety. I spent all of my summers in college traveling across practically every where and seldom was afraid because of racism.

I know for a fact my black friends could not go into tain at night when we were in high school. I bet there are places in Guyana where one will not go because of the racial makeup of the community. I would not advise my son to back pack through Guyana alone as a foreigner. He has been doing that all this summer across Europe with his girlfriend and having a great time.

Racism is everywhere. It is what we seem to create on the fly on account of our identity making and has little to do with skin color since what one eats can define that group as a race, tribe or ethnic group to be discriminated against.

Again, only in the west do we see persistent,active and vocal condemnation of racism with laws in place to prosecute such infractions. It is not a panacea but it does well because it is only in the west that peoples of the world all want to migrate to given their knowledge of the conditions where they are.

People migrate to the west for economic reasons and quality of life not for anything else.  Many people also get disillusioned with their dream and remigrate back to where they came from.

 I know, they want to stay in the delta of nigeria because no racism exist among black people. They like China because the Chinese do not have ethnic persecutions. India is wonderful with its casteism and guess what, all of us would want to migrate to Pakistan!

The evidence is more come to stay and even those like ASJ an you who gripe daily and see such profound evil in the US do not leave. Your progeny will never leave either for the land of Simutoo!

I do not care for personal rationalization of life. I can only say why I like what I like and I think humanity needs the west to overcome the dilemma of an intelligent specie...the drive to self annihilation.

When you watch British or american TV you realise that the main emphasis is the superiority of Anglo-saxon values over those of other cultures. They have the only universal values on this earth and that's why they have the moral authority to colonise, invade and destroy countries.

Try watching the Oprah show or Sanford and son show.
