That racial attitude will increase. Indians can no longer protest for their right against the government. The two women are presumptuous to argue with the protestors and pull one of the picket sign from the man hand. When she said the government cannot please everybody, she means that Granger can only please them, but not the Indians.
I saw this video before and I will repeat what I said. These are angry, grown men, most worried about how they are going to make a living after the closing of Wales. There were other videos on you-tube which shows African vendors mocking the protesters.
Lets analyze this a little bit.
It is unthinkable that two lone women, loud-mouthed as they are, can stand there in the middle of their space, curse the heck out of them and then tore up one of the plackard of the peaceful protester. Mind you, this was all done in the full view of the police.
Carib's response was that the men should be given credit for not letting the women distract them from what they do. That is bullshit because this is how Africans would like Indians to behave...docile and obedient.
Others call this bullyism, reminiscent of the old habits of the PNC.
For me, it is unthinkable that these grown men can allow this to happen. Indian men would never think of walking into the middle of a protest at Revolution Square and disrupt a predominantly-PNC meeting.
Two, the fact that the men did not even attempt to assert themselves is a reflection of their fear of African bullyism.
Three, listen carefully to what the women were saying. This is their government, their Granger, their country, their time to rule. This is a reflection of how they they see Indians and the PPP.
This is going to be the trend in the future. The PPP is not equipped to help Indians. They have to protect themselves, by any means necessary, with or without the PPP. Their mannerism, their outlook and their demeanor must change if then need respect.
I know there are some of you out there who will challenge this...so lets hear it.
Dr. Jagdeo must encouraged the Indians to retaliate when provoked.

If a gang of East Indian men can't even hold their own against two black women, how are they going to attack? The fact is that East Indian men are only brave enough to beat up their own women and murder their own. If we are going to fight with black folks then we are in for a total wipe out.

There you go with your silliness again. And you claim to be an East Indian?
Respect will only come when they stand up to bullyism, not to give in.
Regarding their readiness to beat up on their own: This is true, they need to turn their anger outward and not be bullied. Then knuckleheads like you will start respecting East Indians, and yourself.

In retrospect, Carbj was correct in asserting that the men took proper action by not retaliating against women. I am certain if the situation was reversed, Afro men would have had the same reaction against an Indo woman. Also there is a culture shock here in the video for those of us not accustomed to this type of behavior from Afro women. All my life growing up in GT I witnessed this type of behavior from vendors It is an an attitude developed over years of having to stand their ground in competition for selling space and bullying from other vendors. Also an attitude developed in the ghetto where it is not possible to survive by being quiet and polite. You are forced to become vocal, loud and uncouth. Guyanese refer to this type of behavior as n???eryard, which is not unique to Afros but also Indians who have to adopt the same behavior for survival in the ghettos such as Albouystown.
More importantly, we must not be suckered into violence, Ghandi and his student MLK were brilliant examples of how non violence can reap rewards not possible by bullets. Also look now the PNC learnt the lesson the hard way, years of mo fiah slow fiah did not get them elections, it was only after they extended the olive branch and launched a campaign via the pen rather than the sword that they gained success. Granted that the PNC will stay in power and rule for another 29 years via rigging, but when the PPP in power they outstayed their welcome. So maybe this is the way it has to be. Karma has punished Guyana with these new breed of crooks in the afc/pnc because the PPP got too big for their breeches.

Vish I understand how you felt, Indians has more to lose than black.
It would only result in a ugly situation if Indians retaliate and the Police force is black, so you cannot win in certain circumstances. However, Indians are smarter and will spend to get justice.
They will be taken care of..... they will not go unpunished.
