According to the top student he was shocked when he heard the news. “I expected to do well but not to top the Region”.  He said that he is very happy because he is the only student in the region’s top ten who was awarded a place at Queen’s College. Roy’s father who is a self employed technician and his mother, a housewife, are very happy that the second and only boy of their three children has done so well. The teacher, Symphia Griffith, was very overwhelmed. She said that it was the first time one of her students finished among the top ten of the country. She said she must give God the glory. Aquil Gill, an 11-year-old aspiring Scientist/Inventor, was second in the Region with 513 is a twin. He is also the only boy between three children. According to him, “ I just wanted to get a place at QC.” He was awarded a place at Bishop’s High School. His twin was awarded a place at Mackenzie High School. He said that it was hard studying but his parents were very supportive. His father Dennis Gill, aka Jafar Mohamed, who is a Phlebotomist and owner of Rite Care Pharmacy and mother Dr. Oneka Higgins,  a medical doctor at the Georgetown Public Hospital are elated at their son’s success. His teacher, Michelle Craig, who also taught the student who placed fifth in the Region, said that she is very happy to have students in the regional top ten again. In 2011 she was the teacher of the third and sixth place students in the country. She has been teaching for 24 years, serving the pupils of Grades Five and Six for the past 12 years. Her biggest joy is not getting students in the top but about who they become after leaving school. She even made mention of a former student who is presently a medical doctor at the Linden Hospital Complex. Eleven year old Ayrton Waldron, with 511 marks, placed fifth in the Region. The aspiring surgeon or scientist came from Stewart Park, Christianburg. He is the last of three.

This exam proves how shallow the Corrupt PPP/C can be: If the private schools has been more sucessful throughout the years, than the Government Schools, and the Government has been spending billions of dollars, doesn't that say something, how  this Education Ministry is?

I know that many ministers doan know their jobs and responsibilities. And the PPP screwed up Permanent Secretaries official positions with political appointees. PS were supposed to be a continuous link and efficient functioning of ministeries.
