Dear Editor,
The disinformation spewed by Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo in an attempt to throw water to cool down the enraged Public Servants only served to enrage them further and it cannot go unaddressed.
In a Facebook post on the 13th February, 2021 on the page Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, it was stated “The APNU+AFC continues to mislead their supporters and the Guyanese public. The latest episode of this is the false claim that there will be no wages and salary increases in 2021 for public servants. The fact is that over $10B has been budgeted in the estimates under the head, ‘revision of wages and salaries’. A huge part of that sum will go towards salary increases for public sector workers.”
What Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and so many others in the PPP seems to be forgetting is the fact that we live in an information age and it takes just a few seconds to assert any validity in such statement. You can search high and low, cover to cover and you will not find in any of the three volumes of the estimates any heading as “revision of wages and salaries”. It simply does not exist. And it is a blatant insult to the Guyanese people for such disinformation to be put out by the sitting Vice President.
Further, there is one thing that all Guyanese are certain of, and that is the fact that had there been the tiniest allocation to increase Public Servants wages and salaries, we would have had to endure another hour of Dr. Ashni Singh, and it would have never been kept a secret - as we are being asked to believe today. Dr. Ashni Singh stood for five hours and the only time he uttered the word “revision” was when he spoke about, and I quote “… also through the review and revision of the Mental Health Act…”
To go even further, the word “revision” appears three times in Volume one of the estimates, once in volume two and once in volume three. In this order:
Volume One: Pg 756 “LAW REVISION OFFICER”, Pg 757 “LAW REVISION OFFICER”, “PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT LAW REVISION OFFICER”
Volume Two: Pg 373 “Monitor and review legislations, administrative acts and omissions relating to ethnic relations and equal opportunities and, where necessary submit proposals for the revision of such”
Volume Three: REF 204 “Revision of Technical Vocational curriculum”
The PPP is yet to come to grip with the fact that the uninformed Guyana that they governed prior to 2015 is not the same Guyana today. And today they are held accountable by well-informed Guyanese. So while social media enables their disinformation to be carried, technology plays a vital role in exposing same.
The 2021 budget did not cater for any increase, revision or otherwise, in Public Servants wages and salaries. But the PPP must now find a way to fix such a grave omission in an attempt to salvage their tarnished public image.

Public sector workers will get salary increases – Jagdeo

…says Opposition deliberately misleading public servants

Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo has dismissed “false claims” being peddled by the Opposition A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) that there will be no wage and salary increases in 2021 for public servants.

During an appearance on an online programme hosted by Opposition Member of Parliament (MP) Sherod Duncan on Friday shortly after the presentation of the 2021 National Budget in the National Assembly, former Finance Minister Winston Jordan claimed public servants got nothing in the budget.

Former Finance Minister, Winston Jordan

“There is nothing in the budget for public servants… They are in for a rough ride over the next four years if the Government continues…They got nothing in 2020 and nothing in 2021,” Jordan posited.

However, refuting this, VP Jagdeo in a statement on social media pointed out that the APNU/AFC continues to mislead their supporters and the Guyanese public.

Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo

“The latest episode of this is the false claim that there will be no wages and salary increase in 2021 for public servants,” he noted.

On the contrary, the Vice President went on to disclose that billions of dollars have, in fact, been set aside for wages and salaries for the public sector.

“The fact is that over $10 billion has been budgeted in the estimates under the head, ‘Revision of Wages and Salaries’. A huge part of that sum will go towards salary increases for public sector workers,” Jagdeo explained.

Meanwhile, during his presentation of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Government’s first full-year budget on Friday, Senior Minister with responsibility of Finance, Dr Ashni Singh, contrary to the Opposition’s claims, highlighted that the 2020 Emergency Budget provided immediate protection and relief to the long-suffering People of Guyana and breathed some life into the then moribund Guyanese economy.

Dr Ashni Singh

“Budget 2020 provided for $7 billion of COVID-19 relief cash grants to households across Guyana, $2 billion of one-off grants to public sector employees, and $1 billion in year-end bonuses to front-line workers in the health sector and the Disciplined Services. It reversed punitive and draconian tax measures, such as the value-added tax (VAT) on electricity, water, and cellular phones, and it restored a subsidy on water charges for senior citizens,” Dr Singh noted.

This Amerindian plump girl with a very big ass and dyed blond hair J. Fernandes may have some brutal hatred for the PPP.  Nevertheless, an unemployed black Guyanese means less business for an East Indian Guyanese business person.  I will break it down into basic facts.  If a Koolie buys a product from another Koolie.  Immediately that Koolie starts to think about how he or she can make that product so that he or she does not have to buy that product again from that Koolie.  Therefore no repeat business is likely to be done.  That is why that (Koolie with specks of white blood that makes him superior to all of us koolies and is now hanging out with that anti-koolie hate Greene) Ben Chopsticks is telling West African black people in Guyana now to boycott PPP Koolies businesses.

Yet you can't debunked nothing presented on the forum.

KN false information is being exposed every day. There is no need for me to do that.  You are the one who cut and paste the fake news.

PPP propaganda doesn't count as truth! Only to their unquestioning, unthinking.followers! How is it that you didn't respond to my suggesting Jagdeo avoided meeting with Pompeo? Or that Roger Khan is Jagdeo's pal!
