The ruling APNU/AFC coalition campaigned throughout the election period and made a whole host of promises to the people of Guyana which they promised to deliver within 100 days. 100 days has passed by and most of the promises they made to us Guyanese were not fulfilled. The APNU/AFC claims that Guyana is currently bankrupt and yet we have a whopping $221 billion budget. The ruling party is only trying to put a shield over the eyes of the innocent people by attempting to make us all believe that we live in a poor low-graded bankrupted country. But that’s not true. Guyana is a developing third world country which has the ability of becoming the Singapore of the South America, but no under this administration. If Guyana is bankrupt, then where did Mr David Granger get millions of dollars to spend on his grand inauguration celebrations held at the National Stadium? Guyana is not bankrupt. Why would the Granger administration make such a declaration? What will foreign investors think when they hear the President of Guyana announce that Guyana is bankrupt and has no money in its treasury? Investments will stop and then Guyana will indeed go bankrupt. Also, they gave us a meager salary increase, which will make no difference in our lives. We hear Ms Simona Broomes talking so much about her concerns for the youngsters of this country and that she will stop violence against women and children. Also, under the David Granger Administration, Guyana has seen a whopping increase of crime by over 10 per cent. Is this the good life Mr Granger has promised Guyanese? Guyana is a country that can be the richest of all but it all depends on the intentions of its ruler.

Yours truly, Rayan Sattaur

Empty promises is like pipe without water. An empty cup. A bucket without bottom. A basket to fetch water. Picture this with hungry kids wandering around is not pretty. Put the coalition face on it and it becomes an ugly monster. This is how I see broken promises.

asj, why you still with that crap man, most of their promises were fulfilled, yes there will be some that are still in the works but so far they have outdone the PPP in what they did the first 100 days with Jagdeo.

This aint some lil kindergarten school they are running, this is a country and it takes more than 100 days to correct the failures of the PPP so rest ya rass yeh.

I wouldn't bother with Cobra, he's lost.

The coalition is leading from behind. Four months in government is not the issue. They tried to control the media and failed. They start firing hundreds of innocent people with family without question. Ramjattan demand his position he cannot control. They have ministers within the ministries and getting minister salary. There is no job creation, unemployment rate is high and the economy in trouble. They failed to fulfilled the basic promises to the people that voted for them. This government betrayed the nation and people are speaking out. This government can only do more damages the country as they move to complete their first term in office.

Guyana is headed to disaster under the PNC. They do not have a plan, just empty election promises. Guyanese will not forgive these PNC fools.

"This government betrayed the nation and people are speaking out."

Proof? False propaganda is not proof. Each and everyone of the PPP claims have been discredited under scrutiny. And that includes the claim that the PNC took part in the last election. It is the PNC/PPP that took part.

You call what you're discussing "news" that is a joke.

It's like discussing your famous "ethnic cleansing" when the facts are now coming out where the families are the ones responsible for offing their own.
