Some of my close associates were staunch WPA members and when they voted in 1992 they voted race. The Afro voted PNC and the Indo voted PPP, this race voting sounded the death knell of the WPA. My Indo WPA friend told me that when voting, he had a guilty feeling and could not resist the urge to vote for the cup.My afro WPA associates, lamented that race voting was evident even from members on their slate.

Race will always be A factor in Guyana politics; our hope/aim should be that it is NOT dispositive.

The day Guyanese realise that for many westerners an Indian is just another type of Negro that day they will unite.

You would have to be consistent in your posting to demonstrate that you are not a racist. Given your rather incendiary comments on race one would have to stretch credibility to its elastic limit in order to conclude you are not a racist.

Absolutely not. But I do believe my eyes, so when I see an Indian I note that he is like a black man that has straight hair and when I see an Afro I note that he is like an Indian that has curly hair. Big Grin
