Amid calls for some limited legalisation of marijuana here, Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee on Tuesday reaffirmed the government of Guyana’s zero-tolerance policy on all drugs that are deemed illicit, including marijuana.

There has been a global debate regarding the legalisation of marijuana, with even United States President Barack Obama saying ganja was less dangerous than alcohol.

People are smoking pot and still getting high off marijuana without legalizing it. All drugs are dangerous, legal or illegal. Guyana is supportive of high end illegal drug like cocaine. The United States government is found to be dealing with cocaine and arming the drug pushers with military weapons that is use to kill U.S. DEA's and other drug enforcement officer under Obama Administration. This underground operation was reported recently. So much for big brother U.S.A.
