I thought we were having a discussion, Uncle Henry. Is there a limit to how far you go in a discussion?

Here, this is where we left off, with me asking more questions, different from the first you answered:

To reiterate:

1. The promise of loans are dangled in front of the government until the lenders get what they want in terms of policy. The lenders will be reluctant to deliver the funds until they get what they want.

2. The AFC plays the role of a cat's paw, making it look like the demands for these policies are coming from actual Guyanese, and not from a supranational cartel.
But, Uncle Henry, are you now saying the PPP Gov't is being prudent, hence the lack of release of the Norway funds?

And if that is so, what is the AFC's role in this? I mean, if the non-release of funds is because of the Gov't not giving in, what is the sense in the AFC's protestations? What should it matter to you whether we make up the protestors or not?

You're confusing me, Uncle Henry. Perhaps that is because I cannot reason at your level, so would you mind breaking it down for me please?

And, Uncle Henry, given you are so proud of the PPP Gov't resisting the mighty institutions, what is your take on Uncle Komal (Komal Chand, the President of GAWU, a senior and most esteemed leader of the PPP) in his address to the FITUG May Day Rally 2011, referring to "the troubling issue of crime, violence against women, prevalence of illicit drugs and its use and the gun violence it breeds, the perception of widespread corruption, among others." And going on to say, "These negative features tend to overshadow the country’s gains and, at the same time, act as restraints to further economic growth."?

When I read that the famous letter indicated and recommends that Norway should not release any funds to Guyana

The only thing that comes to my mind is that the authors that affixed their signatures could not have been thinking of the progress and benifits for Guyana, but their devious personal political ambitions, which were duly expressed for all to witness, then I asked myself the question........how can I trust such 'stabbers of Guyana's Progress'?

Guyana will always remembers that these that affixed their signatures and will grasped "et tu Brutus/s'

These people are not the only ones on the list ASJ we need to add all those Toshaos that dem had parading around that reject the LCDS project which is revolutionary and visionary.

The only mistake I think his excellency made here was to not give out printed copies of the agreement to the Toshaos and his excellency should have also ensured that the Toshoas had a secret ballot to vote on this agreement vs. signing some document which they could later come out of the meeting and say they did not know what they signed or they signed because if they didn't they would not have gotten their stipend of flight back into the interior.

I also feel strongly that his Excellency should have given the Amerindians access to legal advisors who could have educated them on this LCDS agreement and also get them more onboard and show where the PPP incorporated some of their concerns into the agreement.

My 2 cents but at the end of the day his Excellency has done an awesome awesome awesome job here.

Alright Alright your sarcasm is not necessary don't forget that the PPP are the ones that restored democracy to Guyana.

ASJ we have to stay away from demonizing these guys, when you go to Bath Settlement and D'Edward village etc, you naturally see people smirking and laughing in a mocking way when his Excellency and others make derogatory comments about Ramjattan and these guys in the AFC.

The people are now seeing these guys as their savior and we have to regain that connection with our people so they can come back to the PPP.

you notice that the PNC does not spend any time demonizing Raphael Trotman? why? Important that we ask ourselves these questions and look a little harder at how we conduct ourselves.

Horse Man, it is not demonizing but it is what the Guyanese Public has seen, personalities with daggers in their hands stabbing not only at me and you but at all Guyanese, whils't the blood is running on those daggers and this is what is on the peoples mind, as there was no way that the PPP could have converted these funds to their own use, as they would want to make it out to be.

ASJ I am telling you when we address these guys like this the people on the ground who are traditionally PPP die hard supporters flinch and they reject this approach by the us. I have witnessed this time and time again.

It is hurting us not helping us on the ground. Look at the PNC and see how many times they refer to Trotman like this.

asj, if the Government is keeping all its commitments as it relates to the Norway funds, how can a group of people, who do not even constitute the main opposition, hold back these funds?

asj, with all due respect, and you know we see eye to eye on other issues, but you are being downright silly on this thread. Tell us where else in the world projects of this magnitude are held up on the basis of a few signatures? Even a school child would know there is much more at work here. Or are you saying the PPP Government is so weak and inept that it cannot counter the signatures of 22 odd citizens of Guyana?

If you have personal issues with Khemraj Ramjattan and Tarron Khemraj, and by the extension the AFC, deal with that, but do not drag others who you do not know into your personal battle.

Do you even know some of the other signatories and their work as it relates to Guyana? Do you know that some of these people were involved with the EAB that Dr Jagan greatly credited for the return of democracy in 1992? Do you know that some of these people played no small role in providing flood relief in 2005?

asj, come on bro, you know better than this...

You made a statement, I responded, then you responded, and then I responded along with a request for clarification. Thereafter you went silent. Yes?

GR, to answer you first question, I would say that by merely what they have done, and that is by petitioning the Norway Minister and categorically tells him that "not release any funds to Guyana."
Secondly the PPP/C Government is not mandated to give every Tom Dyck and Harry a record of its commitment as to the Funds, ofcourse they will be to the Norwegians, but there are ways and means of finding out the pertinent informations in Parliament, but alas!!! no the AFC Parliamentarians want to sit and warm that chair seats and then join with others to become back stabbers "Et tu, Brute?"

We might see eye to eye on other issues, and just as well some of the issues that you would have brought up might be silly in my thinking but I will not refer to you as being downright silly, bro you are free to your opinions, and do not deny me that opportunity.....so popular is this thread, I would not be surprised that if it becomes the number one for the month.....and then leave you with your mouth open catching flies. You should re read your second para and see what fairness tact you have used.

I do not know of any personal issues with Khemraj Ramjattan and or Tarron Khemraj, maybe if you know of any that I may have had then I gave you the permission to bring it up, or shut up, when others decides to publicly affixed their signatures and advise the donors to with hold funds from Guyana, then it becomes my duty to tell them that they are wrong as Guyana is poor, the country needs to develop, needs jobs, foreign exchange, all for the betterment of every single Guyanese.

Finally I do not care for the 22 and whatever job they have previously done, as they might have collected some gratuity for whatever job they have done, I do not expect that they would have worked for free, and cut the bullshit that Guyana owes them, maybe the AFC owes them a considerable lot for clinging and critiqing the Govt morning noon and night as Chris Ram has been doing. Those 22 can be regarded as oponents of the Government and not any church going ordinary citizens that you are trying to make them out to be......since you are entering politics now, you should take a leaf out of Cheddi's book and try to be honest with the people......dont be another scumbag gallavanting as an 'honest than thou now to be' politician.

You should know better than throwing the first stone. You respect me and I will show you the same respect. No hard feelings

You can have the last word on this issue.

And so the games between Norway, Guyana, and the World Bank continues, with Norway saying that they have deposited the funds with the World Bank, Guyana is saying that they have completed their obligations for the first tranche of funds, and the World Bank is saying that they will dispensed of the funds when being told to do do, so what am I missing?

We are all but spectators to a game being played in the world's arena, how will this plays out? Its anyone's guess or speculation.

And Ray, daroo has never been my motivation for anything, a teetotaler bai, might be the right word. Smile

We have to find a positive way to reconnect back with our supporters. It is a serious issue.

Glad to see a PPP supporter is telling the truth.

However if the PPP's time is up why worry? Just let Guyanese select some one else. Its never good for one party to be around too long. People get arrogant as one can see from Jagdeo's daily
buse outs". Its Norway's money and Guyana is not entitle dto one penny of it. Norway can give or not give as it suits them.
