I think many of us are barking up the wrong tree on this Rum Shop Order and Ramjattan and its utility or not vis-a-vis crime. Ramjattan (idiot) gets to take the public flak for this unpopular order while Granger seems publicly immune from criticism for this. I notice how no one has laid any criticism at his feet for this order which had to have received his approbation.

This is all part of David Granger's vision of returning Guyanese society to its colonial public morals. It seems to be part of his vision of "re-fashioning" Guyana and Guyanese society. In the old Roman Republic, there was the position of Censor of Public Morals. I think Granger sees Government as once again being an active tool to compel some semblance of public social order. This is going to be one of many such "social decrees" from Granger we can expect. All in all from a political standpoint...kind of impressive. I wonder if walking around publicly with your bare ass and boobs hanging out is next.

Not sure if you're correct about Granger but something needs to be done. Guyanese behavior is out of hand. Vile, disgusting, nasty behavior in public. Was not this way when I was growing up. Manners, good grooming and good morals were taught and practiced by most people back then. And poverty now is no excuse, we may have been poorer then but had dignity.

The quality of life needs to be improved, all that noise pollution, littering, drunk driving, filthy pissing and shitting all over needs to go. If Granger cracks down on this nasty behavior I am with him.
