The role of the opposition media in the APNU/AFC campaign of destabilization must be highlighted.
The Stabroek News, Kaieteur News, Capitol News and Prime News are currently playing key roles in the opposition “corruption” frenzy. Eerily reminiscent of the strategy that drove the PPP from office in the sixties, they have sensationalised every move of the government as either “corrupt” or “racist”.
From the beginning, President Ramotar has conceded corruption had to exist in the operations of his government. He said he would be foolish not to accept this constant in all large institutions. No media publicity for the president’s position. Where he’d differed with the wolf pack was in the reach and extent of the “corruption”. More recently, he reiterated this point and committed his administration to attack corruption whenever it reared its head. Still no publicity.
But the opposition and its allies in the media insisted that whatever they said was corruption, must be corruption
