Each PPP scandal is examined in isolation, treated as the action of rogue politicians. But together they suggest an institutionally rotten system. Guyanese need an government devoted to protecting their security, which treats all sections of the community equally, and which enjoys the consent and trust of everyone. Currently they do not have one, and so it must be built on new foundations. Time to vote in a new team.

The present crop of leaders of the political parties guard their positions against any possible leadership contenders. That curse upon the nation occured in 1955 when Forbes challenged Cheddie for the leadership of the PPP. Instead of Cheddie debated the motion, he packed up and went home and pout and recieved the tongue lashing from his wife. Next thing yuh know there was a Burnhamite and Jaganite faction of the PPP. The seed of disappointment, distrust and disharmony among the races began right there.

Today, no political leader care to see the interest of the nation and draw a concensus on a leader who can bring the races together or enough to form a nationalist government.

Instead they make enough noise to keep their supporters and permit the corrupted to carry on wid their unholy business.

With every new scampish deal uncovered, the corrupt PPP is proving to be the most corrupt party ever to govern in Guyana.
