Bai, the ranking does not matter. It is just used to ruffle members some of whom are taking it too seriously. I think It is also based on the time that that one joins GNI. You and I are newbies who joined fairly recently compared to DJ who joined donkey years ago.

I am actually moving up to number 4 soon. Making way for DJ to take the number 5 spot.

GNI is fun.

Don't think it's based years of Membership or points, some other methods are used for rankings.

Caste, perhaps? No wonder the Haryana Brahmin is above you.

My ancestors were the original people in parts of India's ,the modern day Brahmins and Rajpoots were their slaves .Found some reading materials of the tribe done by an Asian Society in the 1800's.There are some historical forts and other things built by them still exist in India.

Don't boast. I can say my ancestors hailed from East Africa in the Garden of Eden. But me go stay quite.

As you know, Matsya is the Fish Avatar of Lord Vishnu.

I treat that as mythology.

The 3 components of Hinduism: (1) Philosophy, (2) Rituals, (3) Myths.

Gilly embraces #1, abhors #2 and understands the rationale behind #3.

Sometimes I think it has been reduced to rituals and symbolism. I am not into most of the rituals. The pundits preach the myths as if they are gospel truths.
