THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) is continuing its investigations into the Saturday night shooting to death of a police corporal and the injury of two other ranks who were fired upon by a gunman in the vicinity of the Plaisance Bus Park on Avenue of the Republic and who one eyewitness described as a “fearless skinny Indian boy. This publication was informed that investigators and other ranks of the force have been conducting random searches in several parts of the city as they hunt for the occupants of the car from which the gunman exited and carried out his assault on the lawmen. On Saturday night this publication was informed that while it was not clear from where the police began trailing the car, the occupants of the car became aware that the police were trailing them and attempted to make a dash from the police vehicle. However when they approached the Plaisance Bus Park on Avenue of the Republic the traffic light was still functioning and as such the traffic was at a snail pace. |
