A Personal Assistant to the Head of the Presidential Secretariat was Monday granted bail on a charge of allegedly stealing GUY$1 million from his landlord’s shop.
Azeem Khan, 28, of Pere Street, Kitty, Georgetown was granted GUY$100,000 bail and ordered to return to court on July 9,2014 for report and fixture. Khan was also ordered to lodge his passport and report to the police every Friday at 5 PM.
The prosecution’s facts are that Dyal owns a two-storey concrete and wooden structure where he operates a shop on the lower flat and rented Khan an apartment.
Police said Dyal was losing money for some time with no signs of tampering inside the shop. The proprietor then decided to install a surveillance camera in front the door that separates the shop from Khan’s apartment. He then placed the GUY$1 million in different boxes in his shop on June 11 and discovered the money missing the following day.
An examination of the video recording showed Khan on camera. He was arrested and charged with the offence.

Azeem Khan, an assistant to Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Roger Luncheon, and a staff member at the Office of the President (OP) should be heading to the court today. Khan, who was in police custody at the Kitty Police Station up to last night, is accused of stealing items worth in excess of $1M from a general store some time last week. According to information received, the R & D Variety Store owned by Rudolph Dyal is attached to the OP staffer’s apartment. It is believed that Khan entered the store through a connecting door several times last week and removed the items. One police rank claimed that the young man had “gone shopping after hours”. He was arrested on Monday after he failed to repay Dyal for the articles or to return them. In the absence of Kwame McCoy, Khan would assist Dr. Luncheon during his weekly press conferences.

Shameful indeed, the Corrupt PPP/C has gone from the low to the lowest.

Their recruitment policy stinks, just like all other policies
