An ISIS leader predicted the attack in Nice two years ago when he urged jihadists to run over the 'filthy French disbelievers' in their cars.
ISIS has not claimed responsibility yet for last night's attack in Nice but it is widely believed that the driver of the lorry which ploughed into crowds celebrating Bastille Day, killing 84 people and injuring scores more, was a jihadist.
Abu Mohammed al-Adnani released a statement in September 2014 in which he urged ISIS sympathisers to carry out attacks on 'disbelieving' Westerners.
Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, pictured, urged ISIS sympathisers to kill the 'filthy French' anyway they could, including by running over them with vehicles.
He said: 'If you can kill an unbelieving American or European - especially the spiteful and filthy French - or an Australian, or a CANADIAN, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way, however it may be.'
He went on: 'Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him.'
