The federal governments of Canada and the USA have cybercrime laws that rule against race hate and other computer crimes. I don't see why Guyana cannot keep abreast of international protocols and enact cybercrime legislation too.

To be fair to you, Cobra, Courtney's Facebook posts against Indians constitute hate crime indeed. Had there been cybercrime laws in Guyana, he would have been liable to prosecution.

I think that you need to calm down a bit. Gil is a very senior poster and I hold him in very high esteem. We may differ on political views but I ALWAYS hold back when he advises me to do so or puts me in my place from time to time.

I understand your frustration with what is happening in Guyana under the current administration but the people chose that government and we must respect that.

We can speak out and condemn the Government of Guyana but it is the people who will decide their fate and future.

Local Elections are coming up and the people will have another chance to vote on the current record of the current administration.

We must have faith in the democratic process and patience is the key.

First it is not a matter of western values where differences of the most profound kind arise with ISIS. Secondly, western values are the reason we have the quality of life and can speak of freedoms as sacrosanct.

The government may have pardoned some 40 young men ( not a child killer as the Donald) convicted on minor drug offenses. This kind of thinking in terms of incarceration is not local to guyana but a movement against the penitentiary system as the final solution in all things. This system does not work as rehabilitative but instead functions as an incubator for more criminals. Changing our concept of justice for minor of fences is a necessary change if we care to craft a healthy society with reducing the number of people in jail. You again cannot grasp this fact because you would not know that most nations have different processes that are more successful than a penitentiary system.
