Missing: Safiyyah Sookram

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Fourteen – year – old Safiyyah Sookram, who ran away from home on Monday, November 1 while her mother was doing her daily chores, has been reunited with her exhausted family who never stopped searching.

The teen was found, safe and sound, yesterday by her father Shazad Sookram.

Speaking to iNews this morning (December, 08), an overjoyed Sookram did not divulge the details of how his daughter was found but said he is thankful she is back at home where she belongs.

He expressed a heartfelt thank you to all those who never gave up hope and aided in the process.

The teen went missing on Monday (December, 01) after leaving her Schoonard, West Bank Demerara home unknowing to her family. This is not the first time the teen has ran away from home but would usually return or be found in a day.

This time relatives waited one week to be reunited with the teen.

The teen’s action that seems to be morphing into a habit has implications for her. Sookram’s father would not comment on those implications.

Nevertheless, I do hope she gets the help she needs. Her life is too precious to be put in danger.
