When people are critically injured due to bodily wounds from gunshot, stabbing or accident in Berbice, they usually rush them to Skeldon hospital, then to New Amsterdam, and then to Georgetown, just to pronounce the victim dead on arrival.

This is not the first time this happens. Seven out of ten times, due to multiple transfer, the patient would die on arrival at the hospital.

We don't have Paramedics or Ambulance to get a patient from point A to point B, and to provide first aid assistance to save a person's life. So, why that many transfers when the odds are against you?

I can't imagine my life is hanging on a thread, and I am in excruciating pain to be thrown from one minivan to another to get to a hospital for hours. When I finally reach, I have to wait again to be attended to. When the doctor finally inspect me, I have no heart beat. Isn't that wonderful?

Guyana isn't easy. Life means nothing. If you don't have money, you will surely die. If you go to a private hospital, make sure you have millions to come out half dead. By the time you pay off the medical bills, you will die completely.
