Of curiosity ... Leonora is indeed a familiar place for me while in Guyana.
I was the then Specialist Engineer for works on West Demerara and was living at Leonora.
Leonora was named after two children of an individual ... Leo and Nora.
My uncle, Mr. Sawh, lived there. I heard it was a beautiful place but never got to visit it. He was a driver on the Estate, had lots of sons, and they were wealthy. One son went to NYC in 1966 and through him, all relatives migrated.
