Top Branz Distributors, the distributors of the popular Corona Beer and other beverages and products in Guyana, has thrown support behind the Four Horsemen Emancipation Horserace meet. The event, which is slated for Tuesday 1st August at the Port Mourant (Big Yard) Turf Club, Corentyne Berbice, will now see the Company been the main sponsor. With preparation going full speed ahead the event has so far attracted over 55 entries. The seven races meet has a prize package of over $5M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the takings. At the moment most of the sprucing up work is already completed at the venue, including rehabilitating the stand, stables, paddock and track. Entries are expected to close tomorrow, with the major stables on board with multiple entries; an action packed day of racing is anticipated. The inform Witchy Poo has been added to the feature event for animals classified E3 non-winners for 2016 and 2017 and animals classified F and G that have not earned over $500,000 for 2017. Other top runners include the much improved Storm Bird, Media Day, Climate Change, Itβs MY Turn, Bridal stone Corner, Cat Messiah, Because I Say So, Super Bowl and Midnight. The distance is 1300M for a winning take of $350,000 and trophy. The Three Year Old Top Branz Corona Classic 1300M event has so far attracted the likes of Puppy Tail, King Stanley, Seven Dust, De Rock, Governa Ground Gal, Fresh Dancer, Supreme Cat and Natural Beauty, as they battle for the winners take of $300,000 and the Top Branz Corona Beer Trophy. The animals classified H3 and lower over 1200M will be running for a first prize of $300,000 and trophy. The 2 yrs old Guyana bred animals will be racing over 900M for a $250,000 reward and trophy. The race for I3 & lower animals will be a 1200M affair for a wining prize of $200,000 and trophy. The J3 and lower animals and those 4 years and older and K class will be racing over 1100M for a winning prize of $150,000 over 1100M. The L class non earners of $150,000 in 2017 will be racing for a winning take of $120,000 and trophy over 1200M. On Thursday last, Top Branz Distributors made good on their sponsorship deal by handing over a cheque of a sizable sum for their major sponsorship for the event to the organisers at a simple ceremony in the companyβs Office in Demerara. Doing the honours for the Company was Corona representative Cardella Hamilton who made the presentation to Mr. Bobby Vaughn of the organising Committee. Other sponsors on board so far are Delmur Company Limited, Toolsie Persaud Limited, Cummings Electrical, Attorney at Law R.N Poonai, Fazal Habibulla of Hablaw Meat Center and Rising Sun Cattle Ranch, Assuria Insurance Incorporated, Sankar Auto Works βValvoline, Fix It Hard Ware and Bothers Incorporated among others. The top jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organisers.
