VICE CHAIRMAN of the People’s National Movement, Camille Robinson-Regis is claiming that Planning and Development Minister, Dr Bhoe Tewarie’s is involved in the appointment of a new Director of Town and Country, who did not have the credentials for the job.
Robinson-Regis made the claim during a Peoples National Movement (PNM) campaign meeting on Tuesday at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima.
Robonson-Regis, the candidate for the Arouca/Maloney, said the Peoples Partnership had dismantled sound PNM policies.
“Look at how they dealt with SAUTT (Special Anti Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago) and now they have to pay ( former head) Brigadier Peter Joseph a tidy sum.”
She said contract workers who were relieved from their respective posts “because they were perceived as being PNM supporters” have since sued the State for their termination and they too ”have to be paid a tidy sum.”
“That is not coming out of their pockets you know. It’s coming from taxpayers money,” she said.
Robinson-Regis claimed that Government planned to appoint a new Director of Town and Country Planning.
“But (the person) is the least qualified with a certificate in Social Work and a Diploma in planning from an on-line course from an Australian University…these people do nothing for Trinidad and Tobago but only themselves, friends and family,” said Robinson-Regis.
