Trinidad Finance Minister discusses coalition politics with President RamotarPDFPrintE-mail

PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar and Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Finance Winston Dookeran engaged in a productive discourse yesterday on coalition politics which is now a new experience on the twin island republic.

Trinidad’s Finance Minister Mr. Winston Dookeran greets President Donald Ramotar during a courtesy visit yesterday.

The meeting took place at Office of the President in Georgetown where Minister Dookeran paid a courtesy call on President Ramotar after meeting other officials earlier at the Guyana International Conference Centre, Liliendaal for the Caribbean Development Roundtable (CDR) discussion on solutions to current development challenges.

During the discourse with the Guyanese Head of State, Minister Dookeran presented his recently published book: ‘Power  Politics and Performance’ to President Ramotar.
Speaking to the Government Information Agency (GINA) after the meeting, Minister Dookeran gave an insight into the book which he said addressed the political challenges being experienced in his homeland.
With President Ramotar scheduled to deliver an address today at the 24th Ministerial Session of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee of  The Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Minister Dookeran said he is anticipating some perspectives on a new direction.

Coalition is not suited for Guyana. Our experience in partnership and cooperation had failed by the opposition time many over. They're bent on destroying the country as we know it. Neemakarams and vultures have no interest in the people's business.
